Cant find app in Manage Google play store

Hello,

I have difficulties installing the customer’s application on the device.

The application can be installed on Android device from Play store after sign in with specific customer’s google account.

It is not available only for the specific customer's account.

I have created Enterprise Bindings with this account and connect it with the enrollment policy.

Next, I’m creating app policy in order to search and install the application on the enrolled device, but the app isn’t available in the search to be approved.

Best regards,

Drago

From my point of view you disagree yourself with htose two sentences (but maybe I'm wrong):

The application can be installed on Android device from Play store after sign in with specific customer’s google account.

It is not available only for the specific customer's account.

So, it sounds like the app is only released for specific users and would be because of that only be able to be found and downloadable if these specific user(s) tryies.

I recommend to get the app as an apk file and upload it as an enterprise app (instead of Google play) into Soti and/or check with the provider of the app if the app was released in general to the playstore.

Another way could be (if your customer is also the developer of the app) to upload this app via apk file as a private app in the managed google playstore, then you can also provide this via managed google playstore.

Excuse me! It is available only for the specific customer's account.

And this account is used as managed google playstore account in mobicontrol as well?

If not, this has to be added also but not sure if it will work then to those "generated" accounts on the devices but i assume it should work because they are related to this account.

Did you also try to search for the bundle id of the app in playstore instead of the name?

We haven't had such a situation in the past, we always got in such special cases provided the apk file from the provider of the app and uploaded as enterprise app as mentioned above.

The app should be installed from Play store, because have around 2 updates each week.

The app developers told me it tis published as alpha channel private app.

Ok, then I'm out with any kind of knowledge. Maybe someone else has experince with this here but it very sounds for me like a question to Soti or maybe better Google.

Has the app developer granted access to the Organization ID for the Android Enterprise binding that you have for the MobiControl instance? Are you on a version of MobiControl that supports test channels / tracks? Are there any hardware restrictions in the app (e.g. requires camera) that could prevent it from being shown on the device?

Hi Matt,

The app is installed on not enrolled devices, so there is no such restrictions.

Mobicontrol version is 15.5, but I don't know does is support test channels.

About Organization ID for the Android Enterprise, could you suggest where to fin it?

Kind regards,

Drago

How was the app installed on not-enrolled devices if you're not using the Organization ID? Did the app developer provide the testing tracks to specific Google Accounts? If so that isn't going to be the right approach for EMM based distribution of approved Private Play managed apps. You need to identify your Organization ID for your Managed Play environment that is bound to your SOTI server and then provide that Organization ID to the Developer so they can grant access to the application tracks to that Org ID.
