Quick setting, background task and lockdown

Hello I need your help regarding Zebra TC57 terminals with a lockdown profile. I’m trying to access the background tasks and the quick settings of the notification bar.

I tried in lockdown native mode but I can’t expand the Status Bar but I have access to the background task


I tried in lockdown deletion of activity. In this case I can expand the status bar but when I try to get the background task I get the home lockdown page.

Try adding "Launch://com.android.launcher3" to your lockdown profile. It'll put an icon on your home screen that does nothing when you click it, but for whatever reason it allows the app switcher to be used. This worked for our TC58's.

I just added "Launch://com.android.launcher3" without icons on my lockdown and it works perfectly.

When using activity suppression mode,  what did you do (press, tap, ... etc)  in your attempt to get to the background task?  If possible, please include relevant screenshot(s).

I just want to have access to background tasks with this button to completely close an application.


but when I click on this button I see my application in the background for half a second then I return to my lockdown home screen without being able to close the application and i want to close it

You should be able to achieve what you're looking for using Native Mode. Native mode has configurable controls that can enable the expansion of the status bar and usage of the recents menu. Note that many of the capabilities of Native Mode require Android 9+ so you may be limited depending on the OS version of your devices.

Hi Matt Dermody,

I can access notifications and background tasks using native mode. On the other hand, I no longer have access to the quick settings like wifi DND GPS etc.... but I need it

Hi Teddy,

You may add these specific settings (such as GPS etc.) onto the lockdown as a lockdown item and let the user configure their settings without admin permission. I hope it may help. Thank you
