Hi! We have started developing on the Android Enterprise platform instead of Android+ but one quite big problem is that we can't lock the screen orientation. In Android+ we used the writesecuresettings command for this but naturally this can't be used in AE. Since we don't want any manual steps in the staging process of quite a lot devices we would like to find a way to automatically apply a locked setting in portrait mode. Anyone have a solution for this or have the same problem?
we downloaded android agent for honeywell CT60 Dolphin(Anroid 7.1.1) device from http://www.soti.net/oem . Agent is Honeywell new gen v13.5.0 we succesfully enrolled device, but on device detail window on soti mobi kontrol web console there is a warning log that says "Invalid device software version (Device is not allowed to upgrade)" As a result, app that we want to install on device via profile and peckages stays on pending install Thanks for any suggestion
With the device camera I wish to read a QR Code via SOTI Surf browser. Many browsers allow me to do it. Have a setting that I activate this resource.
Has anyone had issues where "Data Enabled" on an Android device becomes disabled on its own? This happens weeks after the device was initial provisioned with a lockdown profile that does not allow access to Settings. According to SOTI tech support, nothing should be able to disable the Data Enabled parameter in Settings after a lockdown profile is applied. Issue happens only to a small percentage of devices, and so far I'm unable to reproduce the issue. Thanks in advance.
I am trying to get users to view app notifications while in lock down. I was following the following instructions: https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.1/en/console/configurations/profiles/configurations/categories/restrictions/lockdown_notifications.html However, it opens a page stating "ERR_UNKNOWN_URL_SCHEME" like it is trying to access a web page. Has anyone been able to get this working? I would have liked to allow the drop down menu to show notifications but then the setting options become available. Status Bar Options also do not appear to be working as intended. TC51 on android 6.0.1 Mobicontrol 14.1.0.1152
Hi I'm arranging with SOTI to upgrade from 13.3.3 to 14.2. All devices on platform are Samsung and all agents are the ELM version. So I have one silly question that people here might be able to answer... When I upgrade the device agents will the users have to go through Device admin policy pending and Licence activation pending screens again? It's so I can send out any necessary instructions to the users.
Hoping someone may have some wisdom here. Is it possible to bulk import phone numbers into SOTI either to the existing phone number field or custom attribute. SOTI doesn't automatically recognize the phone number from my android devices as its shows an unknown on the device. (I believe this to be due to the way the number isn't stored on the SIM). I can easily get a list of devices and SIM numbers from SOTI and lookup against a spreadsheet that has the associated phone numbers from my Mobile provider. However is there a way to then import that data back into SOTI to populate the phone number field or a custom phone number field? I'm assuming I could do it one by one but we tend to set up a lot of devices 200+ in one go so looking to a quicker. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello. I have an old MobiControl serves (v11), as bing has deprecated the maps version used in this release, i can´t access to a device last known location. I would like to know if somebody has a sql query which can get me this info, at least its coordinates. Thank you.
I'm facing an issue with mandatory apps, it used to work correctly before google broke the play store on the soti side. Devices are Zebra TC56 N, agent build 1474, mobicontrol build 13.4.4822 (had the same issue in 4744), google services are latest; I added Android enterprise agent as mandatory app to have it updated (it was build 1110), it shows in the application catalog on the device, as mandartory, but will not install. I tried anything I could think of, then installed it manually clicking on it, and it installed fine. I tried the same with other apps, same behavior. Another issue, with sonicwall mobile connect (a vpn app), which has managed configuration. Despite setting up the connection in the advanced tab of the rule with everything needed, no configuration is deployed. These issue may be separate, or the same one. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi In our Envirronment the writesecurestring isnt supported for Devices with Android Enterprise. It all worked without Android Enterprise. Now i get the following Error: I tied it with writesecuresetting -glo wifi_sleep_policy 2 Device: Zebra TC75x OS: Android 7.1.2 Is the writesecuresetting not supported anymore? Do you have any idea to fix this issue? Best regards Markus
Is there a way to allow the 'Recent Apps' button on an Android+ handheld to function while a lockdown menu is applied. The recent apps button does not function/appears to be blocked while the device has a lockdown menu applied. The following ADB Shell command which should toggle the recent apps feature also fails to function when a lockdown menu is applied: adb shell input keyevent KEYCODE_APP_SWITCH This button works as expected when the Lockdown Menu is not applied. For reference, we are testing with Android 6.0.1 and the handheld is enrolled as an Android+ device.
On modern Android 7 (and higher) Samsung devices, the application "com.samsung.android.contacts" is responsible for both calling (as a dialer) and contact management. It's got two different shortcuts, which are both present on the default desktop. I'm trying to display both shortcuts on a SOTI lockdown, but I'm having trouble displaying the dialer part. Do you know what I can put into the lockdown settings to have them both displayed properly? At first I tried the following: Phone > Launch://com.android.phoneContacts > Launch://com.samsung.android.contacts This displays the shortcuts correctly but when the user presses Phone, they get the error message "Package [com.android.phone] does not contain default activity)". This makes sense because the default activity for calling should be 'com.samsung.android.contacts', which is the only application available for that purpose. Yet when I use: Phone > Launch://com.samsung.android.contactsContacts > Launch://com.samsung.android.contacts This results in the lockdown displaying both the icon and the functionality of the Samsung contacts, yet no dialer. Our customer is asking for the dialer and wants it directly available for their truck drivers. Another option that didn't work was: Launch://com.samsung.android.contacts/.DialtactsActivity I've tried various intents as well but to no avail. For example: intent:#Intent;action=com.samsung.android.contacts.ACTION_DIAL;endintent:#Intent;action=("com.samsung.android.contacts","com.android.dialer.DialtactsActivity");end Do you have an idea how I can still reach the dialer part of com.samsung.android.contacts and display it on the SOTI lockdown? We're using the cloud-based version of MobiControl 14.1.0.1152. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have set up basic data collection rule just for logging what is going on on our Android devices. Couple of units have noted that they are out of memory, so I got a look for the logging data. 'Available memory' does not seem to give any logical value, starting with minus (-) and amount is high. On some logic it seems to be used bits, but is that a correct assumption since that does not match the idea of title 'available memory'? Data Collection rules that I have set up: Data of the logs for available memory: -1140219904 -1142300672 -1154449408 -1156825088 -1142095872 -1130221568 -1128972288 Units have 4GB memory, so device details give something like 2,94GB / 3,74GB while usage ranging 2,7GB to 3,1GB currently Could someone give a hint how to interpret this data? Thank you for your support! //PMa
Hi, Just wondering if any one knows of a way to automate this pop up. We have recently upgrade mobicontrol from v13.3 to v14.1 and are running a few test on our Android+ device and with each agent upgrade they user will get prompted with this pop-up. Is there an automated or silent way to update the agent on user devices without having this pop up? We currently have over 1700+ devices and having this pop up on everyone phone is not ideal when deploying across multiple cities. Any help with he appreciated.
