Our company is looking at using MobiControl without the use of Intune or Azure Endpoint Management. Unsurprisingly O365 apps are required for ~90% of our employees. Given the current suggested method to deploy O365 apps (setup.exe + configuration XML) and a lack of an MSI installer, I was wondering if anyone has found a good method to deploy their O365 apps through Mobicontrol? Since there’s no support for .exe installers, I’ve wrapped it as an MSI and uploaded the installer, but my gut tells me there’s probably a better way that I’ve not thought of/seen yet.
Good morning, I need to fix the screen rotation into this device type: Producer: emdoor Android: 10 Enrollment type: Android Enterprise – Work Managed Device Agent version: 15.1.5.1049 MobiControl web instance version: 15.5.0.1021 The aim is to force it to landscape mode and then disable the automatic rotation. I already tried with this script: writesecuresetting -sys hide_rotation_lock_toggle_for_accessibility 1 writesecuresetting -sys accelerometer_rotation 0 But they are working with Android 8, not with Android 10. Into Android 10, which is the OS version installed in the device I need to set, if I send that script it only disables the automatic screen rotation, but it doesn't set it into landscape. It just remain in the position during which the automatico sceen rotation was disabled. Is there any difference into Android 10 to force the landscape mode, before toggling off the automatic screen rotation? Thank you, best regards.
Hi there, we are using a Datacollection Rule for GPS Tracking in one environment. Unfortunatly it appears that the routers are displayed totaly wrong. As you can see in the picture, the device supposedly drove the blue path. However, this has not been the case.Is there an explanation for the faulty display? Kind regards, Daniel
Hello everyone We currently got around 300 Memor 10 registred to Mobicontrol and want to make them use Soti Surf as default browser. Seems that even with the script set_default_browser net.soti.surf / net.soti.surf.ui.activities.SplashActivity Users still get a prompt asking if they want to open link in Google chrome or SotiSurf ? Any idea on how to get rid of that? Thanks to all
I have enrolled some Samsung Galaxy A22 5G in a work managed device type but the devices are showing the supported APIs as Remote View 'Work Managed Devices' rather than remote control. Also when you try remote view the device has a popup which says 'Start recording or casting with MobiControl' with options of cancel or start now. How do I disable the notification so remote works without end user intervention. I am using MobiControlcloud version 15.4.2 and the device is on OS version 11 Thanks
I'm trying to verify something - I was told by my account manager at SOTI (who is currently AWOL, so I guess I don't know who my current SOTI account manager is now) that it's possible to use both a managed Apple ID and a regular Apple ID simultaneously on a device. The reason why we want this is because we have a lot of turnover in the company and the Executive wants users to be able to use their phone for both work and personal. So, we're constantly setting up phones for users, only for them to be done in 3 months and then having to wipe and reset the phone for a new user. However, users will sometimes change their Apple ID passwords and device passcodes and not provide them, leaving us stuck with a phone that can't be reused for another user without some trickery. We haven't figured out how to forcibly remove an Apple ID from a SOTI assigned phone. Did I mention that we never got properly onboarded? Their support documentation is also atrocious. Yeah, I'm not impressed with SOTI support right now. Anyway, if I sign into a device with a Managed Apple ID, that part works fine. But if I try to sign into App Store with a personal Apple ID, it boots the Managed Apple ID off and takes over iCloud. Sigh. So, was my previous account manager lying or incorrect? Is this actually not possible? Any advice here would be appreciated!
I have an issue with a newly enrolled DataLogic Skorpio X5 device, enrolled to Mobicontrol in Device Owner mode, with a Managed Google Play account. The issue is that Google Chrome is not available from the main menu of the device. I have added an App Policy with the Chrome browser, and when I go to Google Play on the device, I can see that it repeatedly tries to install Google Chrome, but fails at the "installing" state. I have previously had an Application Run Control installed on the device, that by accident blocked Google Chrome, but even after removing that profile it is not working. Any suggestions what to do?
Hello,Our android terminals do not appear in the soti console, but they are present in the enrollment server logs, We tried with a "classic" version and an enterprise version of Android without success. Console version : Version: 15.1.2.1035 Can you help us?Thanks !
I'm upgrading a VC80X from Nougat to Oreo using a file sync rule and when it reboots Mobicontrol is no longer installed. I have to reenroll it. I tried updating the agent first but I get the same results. Any suggestions? I'm also fairly new at this thanks!
Im enrolling Android Enterprise - Work Managed and was wondering what the communities opinion was for configuration best practice. Say for example I want some feature controls, set a wallpaper, wifi etc and also add some applications from manage google play, some enterprise applications and a package. Would you place all profile items into a single profile, or break them down into separate profiles? Similarly would you place all applications and packages into a single app policy, or break those down into separate ones? Finally, would you add all of the above to a single device group, or build them up using some kind of hierarchical device group structure which then inherits its parent profile/policy ?
Currently running a trial of SOTI Identity and SOTI MobiControl, trying to configure Shared Device mode on Android and have the following setup: Profiles: Android Profile: Lockdown (Restrictions), Authentication (Security)Device Groups: My Company (Advanced Configuration - Shared Device): All options selected The issue is we cannot add in groups from SOTI Identity, when adding a group in the Shared Device window, selecting SOTI Identity as the Identity Provider and searching for group names set up in SOTI Identity the text box is unable to return any of those group names. Also any random string of text entered allows that group to be added. Can anyone shed some light on how this is meant to work?
Hi everyone, I have an issue with the file sync. Orignally, we started with a on prem DS/MS server (001). Later we added a second DS server (002) in a DMZ zone to enroll and keep connection with devices of campus. Now I notice that the file sync rule doesn"t work anymore. Device is connecting to the server in DMZ and tries to download a file from \\onpremserver\FileSync\.... => DMZ server is saying that it not able to find the share. Seems logical, file is on the on prem serve and not on de DMZ server. So how can I now push a file? Create the share(s) on the DMZ server an edit the file sync rule or ....
Hello, i was trying to set SOTI Surf as the default browser. But somehow it is not working. I used the commands from the documentary: set_default_browser net.soti.surf/net.soti.surf.ui.activities.SplashActivity But nothing happens... Samsung Device (SM-P610)MC Agent v15.1.5SOTI Surf v15.5.1 Here is the link to the article:https://discussions.soti.net/articles/soti-surf-as-default-browser Am i doing something wrong? Hi Is there a way to clear soti surf cache when use launches SURF from Lockdown ? If foudn an article describing to use this : sendinfo net.soti.action.surf clearcache BUT how can I attach this sendinfo command to the lockdown item launching SURF ? thx.
Hallo everyone I have a bunch of questions, and i dont want to make like 10 Posts so here we go: Device Kind: Android Enterprise / Galaxy XCover Pro Android Version: 11 Agent Version: 15.1.5.1049 I can't disable the back button, I can however disable every other button in the Android navbar, why? For context: I don't want someone to go back on a WebApp. I wanted to use the "single app mode" in lockdown when i go back to the lockdown screen it shows a missing permission (draw over other apps) warning. It seems to work but looks extremly ugly and the permission was already given at the beginning. Since that didn't work i tried to use a setInterval in a template to make it just launch that one app and the draw over other apps warning disappeared but when i go back it seem to sometimes not execute the setInterval which was set to 1000 ms, leading users to be in the lockdown homescreen which I don't want. Also happens with single app mode enabled. I can't manage some settings like display > navbar or changing XCover buttons. Which leads to manually changing those settings on every phone. SOTI seems to only allow 1 lockscreen profile as soon as i make a second one i can't access admin mode. why? Should i make like 20 accounts now for ever department? Screen timeout doesn't work. I changed it in athentication to 99 minutes it turns off in 2 minutes. How can I reset Soti Surf with a tap on the home button? there is an option which let's me delete cookies when I restart the app but how do i actually restart the app on lockdown mode? I could use the recents button but that seems really glitchy and unintuitive in lockdown mode and i want to disable the back button, besides tapping the back button about 20 times seems even worse. And last question: Where can I send my bill for debugging?
