I have a profile that keeps coming up with error "failed to install, because all of its payloads cannot be installed." Inside the profile is a package containing an APK "Auto Answer and Callback" and two .vcf files. There is no other configurations attached to this profile. The package is set for OS versions 2.0-11.0. The devices are running Android 11 out of the box. We have previously had no issues delivering this profile onto Panasonic FZL1 devices. The APK installs correctly but the files do not.

Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to grant ACTION_MANAGE_OVERLAY_PERMISSION (which is i think not a permission but a setting: "Settings.ACTION_MANAGE_OVERLAY_PERMISSION") Accessibility to a specified app (package name) via script? I don't have an idea how to do this maybe via writeprivateprofstring or sendintent. Android 10/11 and Mobicontrol 15.4.1
Hi All, We are currently setting up 90 ipads and joining them through MDM. We have setup around 4x and then suddenly one of the ipads give the following error: "Profile installation Failed The SCEP server returned an invalid response." We cannot solve this by restarting the ipad, not many actions to perform really. Meanwhile, other ipads configured before and after this problematic ipad have no such problem... Can anyone suggest a solution on how to resolve this? Thank you.
Hello, As most of you will know, devices running on Android 11 or higher are protecting sensitive information like the IMEI and serial number from external applications. MobiControl however seems perfectly able to show such information, even on a consumer Samsung device. We provide an application for truck drivers, to be able to show them where to go and what to do and so forth. Our application is not able to show the IMEI or serial number of the device it is working on, starting from Android 11. Even though we are managing that very same device in MobiControl. If a truck driver runs into issues with his device, he calls us. In prior Android versions we used to be able to check which device he is using in our own software but starting from Android 11, we can't. We now have to ask them which device they're using, before being able to help them using MobiControl. Is there a way for MobiControl to give our own application permission to check IMEI or SN? Or the other way around, is there a way for our own application to ask MobiControl for the IMEI, SN or the MobiControl device name for instance? Kind regards,Theun Schellekens p.s. These devices are all fully managed, only used in kiosk mode and for work applications.
We're currently using MobiControl v15.4.1. Devices are AE enrolled. We have a couple TC57's that are on Android v11 that we'd like to bring back down to v8.1. In the past, we've been able to use the "install_system_update" to push OSUpdates to devices (worked with downgrades as well), but now we receive a "failed to install" error on the device: and the RX logs show this error: OSUService: Can't perform update package: This API has been deprecated for OS downgrade. Kindly use new API (DOWNGRADE_PACKAGE) to enable downgrade (CODE:1103) Is there a way to call the "downgrade_package" via Mobi (com.symbol.intent.action.DOWNGRADE_PACKAGE)? Thanks! -Aaron
Hi, I am trying to brainstorm a solution to be able to get the application version of our custom application stored as a column within MobiControl. We have many app versions deployed in the field depending on customer type etc and being able to easily see this in a column would help tremendously. I would think this is somewhat doable, since Mobi certainly knows the versions of apps installed. I have looked through Custom Data, etc but I don't see a way I can do this at the moment without a text/ini file available. Our development team could look at changing our application to write version number to a text file, but getting a new version deployed to 3000+ devices is cumbersome as a fix. Not to mention that our app can't be updated while in use, so app updating is a nightmare at times for scheduling when devices are not in use all around the country in vehicles. That's a different soap box. Does anyone know of a way to have a column show a specific app version without grabbing from txt/ini file?
Hello We're trying to modify the native Android Settings with Agent version 15.1.0 Build 1045 and the device is an Ascom Myco 3. Is there any possiblity to modify settings like showing the battery percentage in the status bar etc. Or is there an alternative doing this with a script? Thanks for answers!
Hello everyone, Got few questions here, and hope someone would help me figure out the best way to solve those. I'm still a beginner in this environment, so i try to learn everyday about what i can do...and how, don't hesitate to tell me if there is some complete doc somewhere that I maybe didn't see. So here's the case We got (atm) 200+ devices (Memor10) Each of them are allocated to specifi subgroup (Our shops) Til now, they only used basic home made app...so no real problem over there...but here's the one coming. - Soon, they will also need to access our Exchange mail server on them , but to do so...they would need a user certificate...each one would be different on each subgroup. and basically hard to keep track of so ?! Saw there was way to integrate LDAP and Exchange directly linked to Mobicontrol , Would it avoid the certifcate need so? that way user would only be prompt about User / Mdp and would log in directly ? - Second thing ,they will have the need to gain (also ) access to google Nest. Is there a way to avoid creating separete personnal Gmail account for each? or manage them directly from Mobicontrol ? the point is so be sure each can only see their own camera. I saw some paper talking bout using Google workspace instead of a single account (like I do atm). Here's the situation... I'm open to any idea or suggestion :)

I have verified the MobiControl application has all the permissions enabled. Any ideas on what I can try? Agent Version: 15.1.0 Build 1045 Active MDM API: Zebra EMDK, Android Plus 1.6, Work Managed Device, RC+ (1.19.0.100) MobiControl Version: 15.3 Thanks, John
Hi everyone, I need to configure the Velocity application on Andoird 12 terminals. I followed the ZEBRA article "Distribute Velocity Client Settings Using SOTI MobiControl" about this but a WEB connection is required. My client doesn't have web access, so I can't use the corporate store. Does anyone have a trick to push configuration files from an app on android 12 ?
Hello, In the case where I have a personnal mobile phone with 2 SIM cards with one being personnal and the other being dedicated to professionnal purpose, is it possible to declare the professional one in MobiControl in order to let MobiControl manage the calls in this SIM card?
Does MobiControl list which open source technologies that are built in to the product? I'm trying to verify it isn't using Log4j due to the recent disclosure of the Log4Shell vulnerability. It's requires Java to install it, so that is the only reason I ask. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/new-zero-day-exploit-for-log4j-java-library-is-an-enterprise-nightmare/ https://portswigger.net/daily-swig/log4shell-vulnerability-poses-critical-threat-to-applications-using-ubiquitous-java-logging-package-apache-log4j
Hey, we get the error message "Failed to parse XML file(IOException) /sdcard/DatiGestioneMerci/DeviceInfo.xml" from several of our TC51 Does anyone have an idea where this can come from? Device: Zebra TC51 Android 8.1 Mobicontrol Agent: 14.0.0.1579
