    Updating Managed Google Play Agents

Hi All, I have deployed a number of devices to the field and need to update them to the latest AE Agent available. Is there a way to remotely push this update/ask the device to update? Does the agent need to be approved via the Google Play Store Managed Account and then added to the Application Catalog? James

Is there a way to start / force updates from Managed Play Store

SOTI 14.2, Android Enterprise, Mobicontrol Agents 13.4.0.1485+ Hi all,  I am trying to find a way to start / persuade applications updates to start from the Google Play (Managed Play Store).  Has anyone tried something similar? The reason for trying to do this is that I have customers that don't have cellular data but have WiFi facilities when in their offices and updates are set to over Wi-Fi only. Any thoughts?

MC33 Android Oreo AEDO enrolled - RC Plugin does not work

I have enrolled an Zebra MC33 Oreo (with latest Lifeguard Update) device with Android Enterprise Device Owner. The Hawkeye Plugin available from Soti Webpage was installed via MobiControl and shows up as "installed". The problem is that there is only "remote view" available, remote control does not work. Does anybody have an idea what the problem could be? MC-Version: 14.3.0.3144  Agent-Version: 13.6.0.1662

    Using mxconfig in kiosk mode

We've been investigating getting mxconfig script changes to work in kiosk mode. The solution I found was that I had to notify kiosk off for my mxconfig changes to take. The changes being setting Screen Type to None. This was the script: Notify kiosk offmxconfig /sdcard/ScreenTypeChange.xmlNotify kiosk on Has anyone found a better workaround for this? We're leery to apply to turn off kiosk in the field even if it is momentarily.  Devices: Zebra TC75xAndroid 7.1.2Android Enterprise (DO)

Issues setting managed bookmarks on Chrome (via Android Enterprise app config)

Hi,  I am currently trying to add 3 Managed Bookmarks to the chrome browser on an Android Enterprise (Samsung Tablet, OS 8.1, Work Managed Device), I have followed the instructions on http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#ManagedBookmarks.  I can successfully push 2 bookmarks on to the device, but the MobiControl portal states that "The server could not complete your request an internal error occurred when the 3rd is added. I can push the 3rd bookmark to the device, without the others, just not all three together.  Copying the JSON from Chrome, this is also resulting in the same error, so I have included this below;  [{"toplevel_name": "My managed bookmarks folder"}, {"url": "google.com", "name": "Google"}, {"url": "youtube.com", "name": "Youtube"}, {"name": "Chrome links", "children": [{"url": "chromium.org", "name": "Chromium"}, {"url": "dev.chromium.org", "name": "Chromium Developers"}]}] Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Can anyone correct my JSON to get these to be displayed on the device? Thanks

Android Enterprise Time Synchronization and other capabilities

Does the Time Synchronization policy not apply to Android Enterprise devices? I'm becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of clear separation of capabilities between AE and Android Plus within the documentation and the SOTI console itself. These Advanced Configurations are listed under the Android Plus device family but Custom Data works on Android Enterprise while Time Synchronization doesn't? Is there anyway to know what scripts and Advanced Configurations do and do not work in AE without manually guessing and checking? I would expect that given that the Help documentation is a centralized web page that it could be updated more frequently.

    Duplicate Device Enrollments Solved Locked

I'm noticing that a number of devices are starting to enroll as duplicates in a new environment that I'm managing. Has anybody encountered anything like this? Server: 14.2.2.1170 Agent: 13.6.0.1567 Management: Android Enterprise - Device Owner Enrollment Method: StageNow - Agent Install + mcsetup.ini + MX based  I take it that it might have something to do with my Enrollment method but I'm not sure how to prevent it or remedy it now.

Permissions Issue with Android Enterprise Agent 13.6.0 Build 1662 Solved

I have an enterprise B2B application that I distribute to devices via SOTI Package in a Profile. SOTI is properly installing the APK and is also now automatically granting the required permission (just storage) which is a nice feature recently introduced in this agent version. The issue that I'm now facing is that the app itself will no longer launch and I get a permissions related toast message error as soon as I try to launch it. The same version of the application works under the following circumstances: AEDO Managed Zebra MC33 running Android O (8.1.0) with LifeGuard 12 on SOTI server 14.1.3.1587 and the 13.6.0.1567 Android Enterprise Agent.- App runs correctly AEDO managed Zebra VC80x running Android O (8.1.0) with LifeGuard 12 on SOTI server 14.2.2.1170 and the 13.6.0.1622 Android Enterprise Agent - App crashes on launch with permissions error.  I'm trying to isolate my variables as much as possible to identify the root cause of this problem but I'm starting to think that it has to do with the automatic permission granting of the new agent version. Is there any way to disable this feature so that I can manually enable the app permissions? The forced upgrade to a newer agent version seems like a pretty frustrating side effect of leveraging Android Enterprise with a Play Store distributed agent. Is there any way to lock in a specific agent version for AEDO enrollment if it does end up being the Agent causing the problem?

BYOD application catalog enterprise apps fail to get pushed out

My company has started moving from the ELM clients to the android enterprise and BYOD setup devices. So far this has been a simple thing to do and it is working flawlessly, with one exception. We utilize several non-public enterprise applications that must be pushed out to our users. If they are on BYOD it does not get pushed or even detected on the end user's phone. Since we utilize BYOD using the packages for the apps is not an option. I located this page http://www.soti.net/mc/help/v10/en/Content/Web/Rules/Plus/Plus_Web_ApplicationCatalog.htm about half way down there is a section stating you can upload an enterprise application to the application catalog and push it out that way but only if you have a SSL certificate on the server to validate authenticity. We already have an SSL cert installed on the server per the requirements. When i try to push the enterprise applications using this method nothing happens. the app does not show up on the application catalog of any phone that i assign it to, android Enterprise or even an older ELM device. there is no error message or alert that tells me the issue as to why the devices are not seeing the full application catalog.  Is there a setting that I am missing to enable this feature? Has anyone successfully pushed a non-google play store application via the application catalog?

Android Enterprise - Google Play "Your administrator has not given you access to this item"

Hi, I'm using Android Enterprise to run a fleet of CT50s and CT60s. However, I recently enrolled a couple of devices, which won't install the applications from the Playstore. They're appearing in the App Catalog fine, but when I go to install, google play says "Your administrator has not given you access to this item". This is now happening on all new devices I enrol, but existing ones are still updating apps that are already installed. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I'm using SOTI 14.2.1 Many thanks

    Access contacts from WhatsApp

Using Android Enterprise, we can't see the contacts in the WhatsApp. When you open the app, it asks for the perssions, but you can see the contacts enabled and can't change the option cause is disabled by the MDM. So you can recieve messages but you can't open a new chat with any of your contacts.
