Hi, I am running MobiControl (still on 15.6) and I need to delete a profile in the Zebra Datawedge. Before I can install the new version of an application I need to make sure that the old profile is deleted from the device. The Datawedge profile was created by the app but the app is developed not very good, so I need to take care of it. I thought I could do it with a script (sendintent) but somehow nothing is happening. Here is what I tried to send to the device: sendintent -b "intent:#Intent;action=com.symbol.datawedge.api.ACTION;S.putExtra=DELETE_PROFILE,xxxProfileNamexxx;end" The techdocs of Zebra Delete Profile - Zebra Technologies TechDocs are not very useful to me so maybe one of you can send me to the right direction or give me some hints. Hello, I'm unable to enroll my TC72 on Android 11 to SOTI. After StageNow auto populated the enrollment ID, it returned "Enrollment Failed" message. We have used the same process and enrollment ID for our other devices, A10 and below. I'm wondering if there are known issues with Android 11 enrollment? Our current MC version is rather old (14.3.4.1087) and I'm wondering if A11 is just not compatible with older console version? I'm thinking of downgrading from A11 to A10. However, I'm still unsure if this is the best approach?
Hi guys, I need to understand how to keep already installed certificates visible (after migrating from A11 to A13) on the device in the setting UI: Settings/Security/More security settings/Encryptions & credentials/Trusted credentiakls/Tab User My customer uses cert provisioning via SOTI profiles "Certificates". Now, the issue is it is a Zebra SD660 (e.g. TC57x) device that has been migrated from A11 to A13 latest patch levels each. It is known that regarding the encryption method change from Full Disk Encryption (FDE) to File Base Encryption (FBE) there will be an enterprise reset performed prior to reboot into A13. Luckily SOTI agent and wifi profile keeps fully installed and survive the migration. Using the Zebra provided ZCP (Zebra Conversion Package) shows the same result. Anyway, ZCP is not an option. In essence all certificates previously installed also keep valid and working. But: The user certs do not show up in the settings UI of the device anymore. This is seen as crucial problem because in any case of an issue the support person will check certificate in this UI via a remote control session. The alternative to (re-)install certs via StageNow CertMgr is no option - certs are only allowed to be installed via SOTI profiles / SCEP. Hope somebody out there have solved similar issue. I'm trying to install SOTI MobiControl as a fully managed device to my new Zebra TC72 Android 11. We have to be connected to the company's network/wifi in order to enroll SOTI in the past and we used StageNow to install. However, this time I'm doing this remotely from home. So, I had to install Cisco AnyConnect first to connect to VPN out of the box then install SOTI using an external SD card. It was installed successfully, but I was prompted to create a work profile. Is there a way to install it as a work managed while connected to VPN? Or was it me installing AnyConnect that was causing the work profile? Note: Our SOTI MobiControl version is: 14.3.4.1087
Hello everyone, I would like to know if it is possible to automatically approve the authorizations that MobiControl requests using OEMConfig. In my case it is about Zebra and Samsung devices. Have any of you had any experience with this?
Hello. We have the Mobisys MSB3 app configured as enterprise app. In the app policy we configured the profiles in the Managed App Config. Everything works at first, the devices get the app with the right configuration, but after 1 day the profiles are gone, and the app reverts to a configuration we had in the past. Before using enterprise app source, we had it in managed google play store. We switch to enterprise app source because somehow, we had issues with the app getting updated from google play store (even though we setted the profile for Managed Google Play to never update). The managed google play app policy is not assigned to the devices (only the enterprise app), so i'm not sure what can be the problem here. Maybe a left over configuration from this version? As a workaround, we uninstall the app from the devices, then it gets reinstalled again with the right configuration, but this is quite annoying to do everyday. Devices in use: Zebra TC52/53/8300, ET51/ET40. Android version: 10, 11, 13 Soti Mobicontrol version:15.6.6.1010 on prem
Currently we are trialing TC57X devices. We are planning to use these for drivers that need to use Google Maps however I have been told that the screen times out after 30 minutes which means the driver needs to pull over and unlock the device to continue to use maps. I understand a device timing out when an app is not launched however I would assume that if maps is in use a device would stay unlocked? 30 minutes is the max limit within settings. Hello Is there a way that I can force all my devices ( all zebra et45 with SIM card in them) to send a SMS to a specific phone number? I assume that if it is possib I need to do this in order to organize what phone number I have on each device. So is there a way to write in the content of the SMS the imei of each device like %IMEI% or something like this Otherwise is there a way to automatically associate each device with their phone number?
Dear Support,We're using 2 models of devices in our operations, Zebra ET51 10" Android 11, and Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10" Android 13. Both devices are enrolled to same group, with the same profile assigned and fully installed. I'm having problems with those. With ET51, I'm able to remote control but I cannot get to admin mode using button in SOTI, I got this error: ERROR Error sending the Enter Admin Mode action to 1 device(s). With Tab A8, it's opposite, I can enter admin mode using button, but with remote control screen is white. Therefore, device is responding when I'm using navigation buttons on a right side (back, home, volume).Any idea why is it happening? How to fix it?If there are any more data necessary, I'm willing to provide it.Thanks in advance.Wiktor Mlynski
Hello, I tried to do an OS upgrade via Zebra LifeGuard OTA but somehow the enrollment status synchronisation fails. I remember this being a global bug related to the MC console version, which was actually fixed as it's mentioned in the MobiControl release notes: https://docs.soti.net/soti-mobicontrol/release-notes/v156/1564/ Indeed it didn't work when we had version 15.5, later I tried it on MC version15.6.4 and it worked fine. Now recently we upgraded our console to MC 15.6.6 and it doesn't work again and I get the old error! Any idea what could cause this? Is the same bug back again? Thanks in advance
We are currently running SOTI V15.0.1.1181 attempting to configure some new Zebra ET40 tablets running Android V11 Build 11-23-29.00-RG-U03-STD-GSE-04. When attempting to remotely control these devices however I am getting different results depending on the package used. Using no package leads to View-Only access Using the Zebra_Hawkeye_RC_AE_1.6.0.102.pcg leads to remote control access but no visibility on the MobiControl client. Using the SOTI generic plugin leads to visibility and remote access but end-user has to accept the "Recording or Casting with MobiControl" prompt.Are there any suggestions on which plugin to use with these devices? The ideal goal is to have these devices be able to be remotely controlled without any user interaction. We do currently have Zebra TC52X devices running android 11 using the Hawkeye package without issue. We have also ran the following scripts: _resetfailedrcdetectionflag restartagent enforce_rcaccessibility 1 Thanks in advance!
Hi Everyone, I am searching for an opportunity to create a shortcut for the flashlight in a lockdown. This only belongs Zebra devices with Android 13 in my case. Maybe in the future also M3 Mobile SM15X devices. Does anyone have an idea how to create such a shortcut? As I saw it correctly the flashlight isn't an application itself.
Hi, I have about 100 Zebra devices and need to activate one symbology on all of them. Is there any way I can do this with SOTI or I need to remote access all the devices and activate manually?
I cannot access the folders/files from %sdcard%\sdcard\android\data\ on Zebra ET45 tablets I need to upload a config file inside another aplication folder, need to do this to 400+ devices so doin it using Soti is the only practical solution I read here that Zebra devices has hidden MANAGE EXTERNAL STORAGE permission (https://discussions.soti.net/discussions/impact-of-android-11-scoped-storage-restrictions-on-android-agent) But for our devices it dosent seem to work I have opened a ticket with support for more than a month now but with no resolution in sight Anyone else encountered this problem?
