Good afternoon, i have a few android + enrolled devices that are on a separate profile from the rest of our devices. These devices require an app from the google play store and i have created a rule and have targeted a test device. So far i have not seen anything appear on the tablet under App Catalog. Am i doing something wrong? i will include screen shot. i am testing so that is why it is called test. i have not seen the app under app catalog on my device JC DOT 370. these are Samsung tab A's. thank you for your time and i look forward to hearing from you. all our devices are android plus.
Hi All, I wiped two of our Samsung Tablets and re-enrolled them but i have having an issue with the fact that on these two devices the %DEVICENAME% variable has stopped being used and it just shows "%DEVICENAME%" and not the actual device name set on the console like it did before. I need to make it clear it only happens on these two devices after being wiped by the MobiControl function, no other devices have been wiped and it works fine on those. Am i missing something? MobiControl Version: 15.0.0.6019 Agent Version: 14.1.0.1012
Hello Guys, has anyone of you encountered the Problem that your devices are running out of ram? I.e. Android Plus Device with 1 Gb of Ram: 300 Mb Used by System 250 Mb Used by Soti 250 Mb Used by Other System Apps ----------------------------------------------- = 200 Mb Free Space for other Apps I observed that from time to time when our main app puts an extensive load on to the device, it runs out of ram and the system kills the soti agent: I/ActivityManager: Process net.soti.mobicontrol.intermec (pid 860) has died I know there is an option to run specific apps / services as "unkillable" , maybe the agent needs to get an update for this use case on low spec devices ? But the main question is that i have for now, what am i maybe missing except for stripping down running apps and the soti device configuration itself to "save" ram. Is there any config we can apply to not have the system kill the soti agent? Has anyone experienced the same issue and what have you done to maybe solve it?
What is the refresh rate for devices you see in Soti. Is it possible to see battery status with refresh rate of 1 minute or when battery level changes ?
Hi all, I currently have a single MobiControl server hosting both the deployment and management services. Due to our security departments concerns, we have to disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 in the near term. I tested this with our current environment, and although it seems that the web console works fine, all of our Windows Mobile devices were unable to connect once disabled. Re-enabling TLS 1.0 allowed the devices to reconnect. Soti support confirmed that older versions of WM may not support TLS 1.2. So, as a way around this, I need to separate out the deployment server and management server into 2 servers so I can have the web console on it's own instance with TLS 1.0/1.1 disabled, and then the deployment server for the device communication will have them enabled. I can then whitelist the firewall for TCP/5494 for only the source device IPs which we will always know to make our security team happy for that and also https will not have TLS 1.0 enabled. Is there a best path to make this happen? I know that multiple deployment servers can be used in an environment, so does it make sense to setup another server as a "failover" and then can have a way to migrate into that new server permanently? Or, can I just build a new deployment server, stop the services on server 1, start the services on server 2, and then make a firewall NAT change to send traffic from our current public IP (and same URL) to send TCP/5494 to the new server? Thanks for any help or advice.
Hi. zebra mc55x windows Ce device. On device, the MobiControl Profile shows install failed for package(s). How can I reset them or otherwise allow another attempt at installing them?
Is there a macro that would report back the current Android OS Version (8.1.0) for use in a script file? Specifically looking to create an IF statement that calls the current OS Version and then calls a specific MX XML file depending on if an upgrade or downgrade needs to be performed to get the device on a specific BSP. For example: IF %OSVersion%==8.1.2 mxconfig /sdcard/OSUpdate.xml IF %OSVersion%>=9 mxconfig sdcard/OSDowngrade.xml
We are on V15.0. Does anyone know if there's a way to turn on certain values without having to visit each device? We are using Zebra VC80x's (Android 7.1.2) and we recently changed from 2.4 to 5 ghz. We noticed that not all the channels we want are turned on by default in Wifi / Advanced settings on the Zebra device. Am I able to turn these on with a script or another way with Soti? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance.
When will be there an update to the SOTI Agent to solve following problem (Android 8 and maybe above): From Matt Dermody: Granted, this assumes that writesecuresetting is even working on your Android 8 Zebra devices which has been somewhat of a crapshoot recently. The SOTI Agent needs to have the permission granted in order to have the ability to apply secure settings. That permission is seemingly granted by the installation of the OEM Plugin which from experience seems to be inconsistent in doing so. SOTI staff has indicated that version 1.16 of the plugin is needed in order to truly resolve the issue of having that permission silently granted but as of now only version 1.6 is hosted on the downloads page and 1.12 is hosted within the Plugin Service of newer MobiControl instances. We need that fix, for a zero-touch rollout.
Hi, our devices seem not be able to update the android mobicontrol agent (yes, i activated Agent-Upgrade and send agent upgrade). We got the information that an upgrade is not possible because the actual agent is still compatible. I mean, i know it, because it's running!?! -.- Now i tried the following way: 1. send the apk to the device filesystem 2. send script: install /mnt/sdcard/GoogleMobiControl1400_1579.apk 3. A prompt is shown on the device, which has to be confirmed with OK. 4. Update success Is it possible to do this without user prompt?
Hello, we set up Android 9 devices as BYOD with an Android Work profile. We do the following steps: Setting up the device but skip the Google account setup (because the user of the device should add their personal Google account later) Now the Work profile should be added Is there a better way than now downloading the MobiControl agent apk, install it on the device and enter the enrollment id to set up the Work profile?
Good day all For some reason I am able to view certain devices especially the branches with 20 devices and less in a group. However when trying to view devices from groups with more than 30 devices I am getting an error message 'the server could not complete your request' - an internal error occurred. It suddenly happened from yesterday.
I am using Samsung devices on the Android Plus platform, would like to capture on the same. Mobicontrol Version: 13.4.0.5003 (Running on the Cloud)

Hey Guy's, we're actually working with Zebra Devices on Android Nougat (7.1.2) very successfull. All new Devices and also the old one's had to be upgraded to Oreo in the future in Case of security Updates etc. Unfortunately we're not using a PIN or Pattern so far and on Android Nougat it works great. But when I join an Oreo Device, it has to be set up with a Device PIN or Pattern to work correctly. In our specific Case no Certificate for Wifi e.g. can be pushed to device. Also other stuff like mxconfig Things wont work until we set up a PIN on the Device. Is there any Chance to get Oreo running without the need of a PIN on the Device? many thanks PS: Were using MobiControl 13.4.0.5074, Agent Version 14.0.0.1579 in DoA Mode, Zebra TC20 & TC51 / TC52 Devices
