Hi I've been asked about setting the lock screen on our Samsung XCover 4 devices to show an "if found please contact..." message. There was a question a few months back but that related to Android+ ( https://discossions.soti.net/thread/push-wallpaper-to-zebra-tc75-devices-android-enterprise/ ) and was using writeprivateprofstring which is no longer supported. Is there another way I can either change the lockscreen background or update the Owner Information text (found in Settings menu on device and I could enter relevant contact details)

Hi Experts,I'm new to certificates thing, when setting-up an On-premise instance of Mobicontrol, do I need to provide/generate certificates other than Mobicontrol Root CA to be able to run the functionality of Mobicontrol Server? Given the client will be using a FQDN for external and internal network. What is the role of certificates and what is the best practice when implementing on-premise with certificate involved? Use Case: Android Work Managed Devices (COSU) and iOS-Supervised Mode
Hello,I'm running a 30 day trial of the cloud Mobile Control. Up until today it worked but when I started my device a CN51 with android there where no remote control available. Device is connected and I can send message to the system. Yesterday it worked and I have done no alterations in server or device since then. Tried to restart device. Changed from wifi to 3g but no remote control available.
I connected my android plus devices to the SOTI Mobicontrol and my devices are sowing in the Mobicontroldashboard. I can do some simple actions like "Send a message", "Lock" on my devices using Mobicontrol. Now i want to send some configurations like SOTI Surf, Lock Down and some apk files (using package) to the devices. For this i created a profile and set all my configurations and set my package in this profile. But when i try to assign this package to my device , these configurations or packages doesn't get reflected in the devices. Also the dashboard shows that "no devices assigned".i am getting no error message. Screenshots attached. Can you please help me to resolve this issue ? PS: I have disabled my firewall to make sure no port is blocking.
I have a very weird issue with SOTI lockdown: Samsung J3 devices, Lock-down screen steals focus away from active user many times. meaning whatever the user is doing on the phone, the screen flips back to the main lock-down screen. The user can be texting, emailing, or using an approved app from the lock-down screen. This behavior makes the phone basically unusable. The user can return to the screen they were using and continue to try to complete the task (say trying to complete and send a text message), only to have the focused stolen again by the lock-down screen. If the user is lucky, they can complete a task quickly. Though sometimes, having to try many many times to get something done. It appears to happen @ every ten minutes randomly, however - when it does - it can steal the focus away from user 10-14 times in a row. I have seen the logs contain multiple entries (10-14) in the same time-frame (H:M:S) like: 7:02:02 AM Information Custom log (The device has been switched to User mode) 1-14 times in a row., different days, different times. I also see multiple (1-2) same-day log entries for: Information Custom log (Samsung ELM License successfully activated) other info OS Version 8.0.0 Agent Version 13.6.0.1476 This issue was reported to SOTI in 2016/2017 and I sent them @ 3GB of 'logs' over 8 different troubleshooting tests, the only option offered was - we are updating the agent. We now are 8 Agent versions past this first report, the issue is actually worse than ever. I use: Feature Controls: Block Tether/ add new accounts Phone Calls: to block International and 900 Application Run Control: Blacklist numerous 'sharing sub screens (to prevent user for sharing to online services) Lock-down : 8 apps available - (I recently changed speed-lock to 90 seconds vs 10 seconds for kickoff.) I desperately hope this is what is kicking user out of active screens Settings Manager: allow all SotiSurf: with settings to limit sites allowed File Encryption: for HIPAA compliance. and Authentication: to enforce expiring pins My Rules, data collection and data-com collection every day at 9A {infotech wonk}
I have an application that was initially installed on every device but has been uninstalled (separate issue) in the past. The Installed Applications panel will list it as (example) TestApplication Version 1.0. I have a new version of the application that needs to be deployed to every phone and the phones with the application already unistalled fail "Failed to Install (File I/O Error)". The devices with version 1.0 transition to version 2.0 with no issue. How do I get around from installing the application to the failed devices one by one? Andorid Plus MobiControl V13.3.0.3965 Thanks in advance.
Inquiry: Mobicontrol documentation that are found online is not enough or vagued.“Mobicontrol Administration Utility – Deployment Server” Site Name – can I input a unique sitename? Or it is recommended to use the default? Deployment Server Name – can I input a unique deployment server name? Or it is recommended to use the default? Primary Agent Address and Port Is this the address for communication between device agent and soti server? Should I use FQDN resolvable from internal and external network? Another scenario: Public IP with port forwarded to 5494 – ex: 1.2.3.4:44 Secondary Agent Address and Port Private IP with port 5494 Device Management Address and Port What is the difference between “Primary Agent Address” ? FQDN via port 443 ? Management Service Address and Port Is this the address the Webconsole users should contact to? Is it recommended also to use FQDN? I'm fairly certain I already know the answer (no) but is there any way to bind a Managed Enterprise and utilize AEDO management in an On Premise SOTI instance if the SOTI server has no external network access?
Hello, We have the TC51 HC with Android Nougat currently in use. The Agent (13.6) is running without any problems. Now, I tested Android Oreo on one device (after update and factory reset) and I got the error message "This device agent is incompatible with your device". I tried the latest OEM agent from the SOTI website, but I'm unable to start the agent. Does anyone happen to run the agent on Oreo? best regards Oliver
I'm having trouble trying to enroll Zebra MC33 devices. I tryed differents Android+ agents, but it fails to enroll. I only can enroll it with the Android Enterprise Agent, but i don't know how to enroll it in Device Administrator mode. When you do a factory reset, it doesn't show the Google account configuration or the Language selector screen, to access the QR provision mode.
Can any one tell writesecuresetting command to change location mode or any other command for android OS 5.1
