1) When making changes to the SOTI Surf configuration at Profile level, the user sees a 'Configuration Updated' message asking them to relaunch the browser. With our current lockdown, this is not possible and we would expect that most users would end up being forced to reboot the device for the changes to take effect. I believe there was a Feature Request created for this under SB-4258, based on feedback that was provided when testing with SOTI Surf 14.2.0 Build 119 2) Custom Attributes. We currently have two potential use cases for SOTI Surf in a production environment, however a limitation of this browser for us is that the browser does not seem to support Custom Attributes (eg: Store Number 0001). Example: http://testurl.com/%CustomAttr:StoreNumber%/%CustomAttr:Language%/ Does SOTI have any plans to enable the use of Custom Attributes within SOTI Surf Configure Home Screen URL? Alternatively, what are our current options for deploying 500 unique URL's via SOTI Surf where each targeted device requires a custom URL to be set as the home page?
Hello all, I am having an issue that I can't quite seem to figure out. We have a Progressive Web App (PWA) running inside of SOTI Surf that is accessing the tablets camera in order to scan barcodes. When the page comes up, the camera is shown but inside the "Select Camera" dropdown list, it shows (no Permission). Since the Camera was showing, I didn't think much of it. After about a week of just letting the device sit idle, I go to launch the page and where the camera box would normally be, there is a gray box with an X in it like it won't load. Any idea why this is happening? I originally thought it was permissions inside of SOTI Surf but I'm not so sure about that now.
Hi! We have configured the SOTI Surf on several devices but after an upgrade of the MobiControl Agent to one of the latest versions, we got problems with using SOTI Surf. The application won't get past the splash screen but it will also start flickering and head back to the lockdown instead. This seems to be some kind of problems with a permission?? Devices used in this case are Zebra ET50 and enrolled as Android Enterprise Managed Device, and we are installing the application with StageNow XML instead through Google Play or package deployment.
Hello all, I am working on a tablet configuration that will access a website that is being developed by a company that we have hired. The website requires the camera in order to scan barcodes. I have a configuration set up on a Lenovo P10 device which includes AFW and a lockdown Kiosk Mode. We tried to use Chrome as our web browser but we don't want the end users to be able to access the address bar or anything else involved in the top menu. The website works in Chrome though. That is when we decided to use SOTI Surf instead. Now when we navigate to the URL, it says "Camera (no Permissions (X))" but the picture comes up. After about a day of downtime, I will try to access the same website with no picture in the picturebox. It's as if Surf has realized that it shouldn't be allowed and then blocks it. It only starts blocking it after a certain amount of time. (usually overnight). Any suggestions?
We have Samsung (S6 and S8) and they are all in Kiosk mode. The Users must not be allowed to access the internet except to use Google Maps. If you allow the standard Google Maps app on the lockdown screen they can use it fine but they can break out to the internet via website links in the map location despite disallowing this in Application Run Control. An example I will use is YouTube. So you allow Google Maps (App) on the lockscreen, user searches for something like 'Costa', a list of Costa sites come up with a link to their website. They click the website link which gives them an address bar to free type whatever they please, In this case YouTube. YouTube is Blacklisted in Application Run Control. I have found a way around this by adding the following to the lockdown screen Surf://www.google.co.uk/maps and then in Soti Apps > Surf Settings I have whitelisted maps.google.co.ukweb. This works perfectly to find locations and directions and does not allow the user to access anything on the internet apart from Google Maps. However they can not use the navigate button which would give them walking directions for example. It says Access Restricted then brings them back to Google Maps. So close to a solution - maybe I just need to whitelist something else as well?
Hello all, we have the server on version : 13.3.0.3454 we have the client on version : 13.6.0 build 1476 we have some device on android 6.0 and we have some new device in android 7.0. We used the zebra TC75x as a device. Actually we have a lock down, in this html page we have some icon. These icons launch some links with soti surf. All works fine with android 6.0 and 7.0. But i have a little problem... My problem is when I installed Soti Surf on android 7.0, at the end of installation when soti surf starts I need to accept some permissions ... In android 6.0 it's not necessary ... I need to installs more than 100 news devices. Is there a way to accept these permissions automatically ? thanks
Is there a way to run a script on an Android device and see what device permissions are needed for an app? I want to enable all the device permission to on for Soti Surf so the device isn't prompted to enable those settings. Thanks.

Hell all, I work with a tablet Panasonic FZ B2 under android 6.0. On this tablet , BEFORE we have a short cut who launch an URL ... For some security reason, we have create a lock down (html page) who contains just Href tag. We open this Href with SOTI SURF ...because with browser soti surf URL Address bar is hide ... All works fine ..great .. I have question about the standard about soti surf and chrome. Because our private web site before was used with chrome and TESTED with this chrome browser. Could you confirm that soti surf browser has the same html standard than chrome ? Or it's better to test the URL with soti surf BEFORE to push the lock down in production ? thanks for all
Hi all, I can't seem to find any option within SOTI Surf 14.1.0 Build 66 to disable and lockdown this functionality, when users are navigating our webpage. Current use case is for a customer experience solution, so we would like to avoid customer zooming in completely on the page and leaving it in that state. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi, We have followed the instructions for the ERG. Part of which we have bound the ERG to a new port within IIS. When installing the Soti Apps Server Extension it asks for a port. If I enter the port of the ERG, the port is already in use. The Soti Apps Servers installation states the following in relation to the port. "The port that ERG runs on. Devices connect to the ERG using this port. Using a dedicated port is recommended." Does it actually need to be the same port or a dedicated port? Thanks
Hey Guys, is there a chance to deploy a setting / intent or something else to avoid the "Choose Browser" Message on an Zebra TC Device? We've installed Soti Surf to use a single WEB-App in Kiosk-mode but dont want to use Soti Surf for other URLs or classic webview. for Example: if we start an App and there is an option to show any content online, the device will ask which Browser should be used (Chrome or Soti Surf) Many thanks
Hi, I have setup a soti-surf profile with only a home page defined (bbc.co.uk). When I push this to a device Soti-surf opens and natigates to the home page (bbc.co.uk) If I then update the profile to enable the ERG but have no domains listed, Soti-surf fails to open and displays the error - 'Please try again later or contact your administrator for assistance'. I was under the impression that the ERG would only be used for the domains listed in the profile, therefore, if there are no domains listed usual connectivity would continue. Am I mistaken or what have I missed? If I'm correct in my thought process, do we have a problem with the MobiControl installation? Thanks
Is there some place that Soti provides a download link for the Surf apk outside of Google play store? We would like to deploy it but the target devices are all on private cell APNs and have no access to the Internet. I would like to deploy it the same way as we do Settings Manager, for which Soti provides a download link. I'd rather not have to use third party sites (apkpure, etc) to get the surf apk. Am I missing it somewhere on the downloads page?
