Once a Pixel 5 has entered lockdown how are you able to access the Administrator password? Normally you would hold the back button for a few seconds but there is no back button on these newer phones. To go back you have to slide your finger from one side or the other to perform the function. When you do this on a Pixel phone in lockdown it does nothing (other than the back function), the phone does not register that you are holding the back button when you hold the swipe feature. Any suggestions?
This afternoon I loaded the latest Settings Manager (15.0.0 build 14) as it now supports Android 10 and 11. However, when I attempt to do anything in the app it tells me that I need MobiControl agent 14.4.7 or higher to use this feature. Okay, sure. I check my version of the agent and I'm at 14.5.0 build 1011 so I should be okay. Ideas? Anyone else seeing this?
Hello, [MC Version: 14.3.3.1111 // Devices: Android Enterprise DO] Could someone tell us how this script works, what is the flow and above all, is the system secure and how? We are surprised that we do not know about this flow since it does not appear on the network config diagram: According to the online help: sendreport Sends a debug report from the device agent to the SOTI ftp server. This script ask the device agent to send a debug report (all following files) to the SOTI FTP server through the port 22 and without passing through the MC server (DS/MS). Since we are concerned about the security of our devices, we have some questions : Is the FTP flow used by SOTI (not SFTP) secure? If so, how it is secured? What is the authentication mechanism? Is it a one-way flow? Or is it two-way? From device to the SOTI FTP? From SOTI FTP to device? What types of files can transit through this flow? In case SOTI is attacked, what would be the possibilities for the hackers and the consequences? Are there other flows of this type that do not appear at all on the network config diagram? Many thanks for your detailed answers. BR
Hi guys, i recently enrolled some Samsung A01 devices to MC with Zero Touch and Android Enterprise enrollment. Everything going well, but as per yesterday, 1 user come to me and show the MC apps in his phone show this notification : Grant Permission to MC : Your It administrator policy requires that you grant all permission to MC. Revoking permission may put your device at risk and could result in corrective action by your administrator. I am not really sure what happened, since the device going well before (about 2 weeks, the device enrolled around 8 April 2021). I tried to unenroll the device and re-enroll it again, but after i unenrolled it from console, the MC in the devices still show that notification. It;s like the device as not unenrolled yet. Anyone faced this issue before? Thanks & regards, Randy Saputra
I have seen previous posts alluding to how it is possible, using Stage Programmer, to specify the agent version when enrolling a device int Android Enterprise. I have Stage Programmer on m phone and do not see where this can be specified. I see WiFi Configuraiton Device Details Mobicontrol Enrollment details but that is all. I am able to open the camera from the activation screen, scan the QR code, and get the device enrolled but at no point during this process am I given a chance to select a version, I get whatever is the latest. From what I can see there is zero difference between using the QR code and the affw#mobicontrol method other than I save some typing I don't know if it matters but I am using Mobicontrol Cloud and I do't seem to be able to change the agent version there like I can when I enroll in Android Plus-- there I can decide to inject a new agent into my system or leave it set to some previous version, I dont' seem to have that option for Enterprise. If it matters I am using Samsung Galaxy tablet devices . I searched the forum and have read comments where "this has been asked and answered many times before" yet I cannot find the answer itself so I apologize if this seems a bother. The guy at SOTI couldn't answer me today and I am still waiting for his email with the instructions so all I have left is this forum. Many thanks, Matt
We have a few Android 10 devices (Motorola Moto G8 Power) and trying to use the Remote View resulted in the device displaying an "Exposing sensitive info during casting/recording... Cancel/Start now" confirmation dialog which is a new feature in Android 10 as discussed on Google support forum: https://support.google.com/android/thread/13791498?hl=en We've found a workaround by applying an ADB command via USB debugging, found e.g. on Stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/63039084/android-stop-permission-promt-for-screen-recording For MobiControl it's: adb shell appops set net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork PROJECT_MEDIA allow I'd be happy to hear about more elegant solutions than enabling Developer more and USB Debugging on each device and applying this manually device by device. I haven't installed any device specific plug-ins. (As found at https://docs.soti.net/mobicontrolagentdownloads/) I see there's a "Lenovo ARM" one which probably would be the right one. The devices are in Android Enterprise mode and will run a kiosk mode once delivered to end users.
Hi All, I am currently trying to configure a Spectralink Versity 9540 with an app which pushes notifications from a nursecall system to the phone. Currently the app is functioning correctly outside of lockdown mode, but when we put the phone into lockdown mode all sounds from the app are silent. As this is a critical system that is meant to notify users this is not ideal. We have tried both Native lockdown and Activity suppression, and neither will allow notification sounds to come through. The App is an .apk package we have uploaded to the phone, which could be part of the problem. It is not available on the google play store. Any help or advice would be appreciated, thank you.
Hello everybody, does anyone have experience with Android Enterprise in China? A customer of mine wants to use his SOTI MobiControl Cloud instance in China. He is using Zebra devices world wide (Andoird 8 or higher). The problem will be the Android Enterprise Enrollment. Usually we enroll devices with the token afw#mobicontrol as Google address but that wont work in china. I have some ideas but no experiance with China. 1. Use a VPN Network with GMS access for the device Enrollment in China 2. Only ship enrolled devices to China (would not be perfect because if we have to re-enroll devices for any reason) 3. Maybe other Enrollment methos except the token will work without GMS? I am happy for every idea you have, thank you in advance!
Dear Community! Please help me. I'd like to enroll a Zebra MC3300, but "Enrollment failed". Parameters: Android 8.1 - Build number: 02-32-04-.00-OG-U001-STD SOTI Android Enterprise Agent: GoogleMobiControl1444_1051 VERY IMPORTANT: the Remote Control feature is necessary!!! I have no idea how can I manage the correct enrollment, earlier I had some success enrollment with this MC3300 device but only with Work Profile, only Remote View feature. Thanks in advance. Regards: SN
Hi all, I've read information from a previous post about AE Work Profiles, but I'm not sure if it applies to our context so I would need your feedback. https://discussions.soti.net/thread/android-enterprise-device-1/ We have a group of users that have Samsung S9 devices. These are corporate owned devices but can be used also as personal. We created a rule where those units will be ''Enroll fully managed with a work profile''. In this case, there's a Personal and Work container. When we wipe (with bypass factory reset protection) the device then re-enroll it, it ask us to enter the personal account of the user. That's were we don't understand, as there's already a Managed Google Play account in this rule, which should be mandatory to enter again into those corporate owned mobiles. We use afw#mobicontrol in the initial steps and our platform version is 15.3
Hi, is it possible to allow Recent Task List in Lockdown for Android 8.1? There's only floating button but no recent task list. Recent task list is allowed for Android 9. Device is registered in Android Enterprise COBO. Thanks
Hi all, Is it possible to run a script that changes the device name in its settings to match Mobicontrol's device name ? We are currently AE enrolling Honeywell CT40 and testing different scripts Thanks,
We have an existing Android Enterprise profile that we use use with various Android models. We would like to use SAMSUNG Galaxy A12 going forwards. I just wanted to check if this is likely to work in the same way or are Samsungs limited to Samsung Knox functionality only?
Hi All, from time to time i have devices that pull their profile / app updates etc. whilst being in use i.e. using wlan or lte , although profile installation is set to ethernet / lan only. Is this corellated to the device update schedule, so is mobicontrol only taking into account the latest known status of the device and not doing a check-in before trying to install the profile? I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
