We tried to apply one to Debian based device and it failed. The document for v15.0 says it requires Ubuntu only, is that still true in this version?
Hi, I have following setup: Soti Mobicontrol: 15.5.1.1010 Zebra TC58: OEM Version 11-19-15.00-RG-U00-STD-ATH-04 Agent Version: 15.3.4.1113 I'm experiencing missing IP and MAC data fields in Dynamic Lockdown after restarting the device. Neither Lockdown nor script "notify ..." updates it. Only solution is to switch to Admin mode and then back to User mode. Anyone else experienced this?
HeysanWe have seen one of our clients, also using Soti MobiControl, have added buttons to the lockdown screen. When they press the button, a new page with new buttons or apps opens up. If the press back, it goes back to the main page. Have anyone here had success adding subpages to the lockdown screen, that opens when you press a button on the screen or anything similar? We have a client who could benefit from such a solution. On the main screen they have a standard lockdown profile from the standard template. They have 9 apps but would like a button to access a manuals page, where we add links to open pdfs on the device directly. (using the file command)We don't allow them access to the file manager on the device, which btw is a Zebra TC26.
Running Samsung tablet with Android 12 and the kiosk lockdown is not getting installed from the Profile in the Configurations. All permissions for SOTI are set to Allow on the tablet. All other items in the Profile (wifi, wallpapers, authentication, etc) are installed and working correctly. What else needs to be set? Is this OS blocking the LockDown?
We have Android tablets in lockdown (Soti Surf, Gallery, Camera, and Soti Settings are the only apps used) and have allowed USB access to the sdcard to pull pictures or videos by turning on USB sharing and USB Debugging allowed. We just want to keep the setting of transfering photos only (gives access to DCIM and Pictures folder). Every time the device is rebooted it switches back to the default of showing all the folders in the sdcard (when you plug it into a pc to pull data). Thanks
Just after some advice if possible. We're trying to enrol and start using Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3's using Android Classic enrolment (we have good reason currently but will opt not to go into any specifics on this). Those devices are running Android 13 on February 2023 security patch. We have only one live user currently and one test device in hand. The test user has periodically complained that the lockdown has crashed with a message saying that the menu could not be loaded and to contact an administrator. This is happening at awkward times and often when support for the individual isn't available. It can only be fixed if the lockdown is revoked and then re-applied. Agent version 15.3.1 Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has a work around? Not sure if this is a bug, whether the lockdown itself is at fault or whether something in the OS is corrupting the menu? I notice in Android 13 that you can select the default home screen between MobiControl and One UI - you can set it to MobiControl but on reboot I don't think its always retaining that setting and I have noticed periodically One UI gets set again. Not sure what the default should actually be and if this impacts the agent/lockdown at all. At a bit of a loss really and not wanting to go fully live until the problem is worked out. I was going to set something to maybe get the agent to log some more debug information to see what the culprit may be but have forgotten how to set up more logging via the agent for Android Classic. Thanks
Hello, I know next to nothing about HTML scripting. I was able to add the device name to the lockdown using the following that I stole from another forum question (its not the whole code, but hopefully enough to give you an idea): <div id="Footer"> <div class="FooterContainer"> <div id="id">ID: %devicename%</div> I wanted to do the same to display the network name so an end user can tell me what device and what network they are on in case we need to troubleshoot. Is the SSID available for this purpose, and, if so, how can I go about adding it to my lock down. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Hi all, We have 2 TC8000 (Android 5.1, Agent 15.0.0 build 1110) and 1 TC8000 (Android 5.1, Agent 14.1.1 build 1003). They all display as "Lockdown screen is not configured".When I go into Admin Mode all 3 are showing as Not Enrolled and Agent Disconnected. Yet, the first two (with agent 15) are still showing in the Webconsole, but as offline. When I try to go to the Home screen in Admin Mode, the devices go back to Lockdown screen.I also cannot pull the top menu down, it's as the device is still in lockdown even in Admin mode.Because of it, I cannot change, check any configuration (like confirm if they are in the right network) or push a factory reset. I assume, because of the lockdown it will also not be possible to push the reset APK thru USB, as they don't have Developer Mode on, and can't go to the settings to activate.Any suggestion on how to "unbrick" those devices?MobiControl server version is 14.4.4.1045
It is about Android client. We use the lockdown mode.In spear screen messages appear when app is installed or uninstalled. Is it possible to disable this
Hi We have a 20 button lockdown for Honeywell EDA51 devices but need more buttons. Is it possible for one of the 20 buttons in the lockdown to open a second lockdown when pressed or is it possible to add a folder where apps can be opened Thanks
How do I go around using a script in hand with the out of contact profile that completely disables/locks the device until connected again? I have had help via support team and they suggested using geolocking, and when device exits the geofence use the command: mobicontrol.lockdown.enableBut that does not work. I believe I have to configure the lockdown before running that command? As there is no reference for the command to go refer to regarding the lockdown.cmd. My devices are 2019 Galaxy Tab A's.
Device make and model - Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 Device OS – Android 11 Mobicontrol agent version - 15.3.0.1006 Lockdown Mode Hello, Based on threads such as these; https://discussions.soti.net/discussions/disable-screen-timeout-in-lockdown https://discussions.soti.net/discussions/is-it-possible-to-force-screen-to-be-on-at-all-times I am attempting to script our end devices to adhere to a setting of the administrative choice. Currently, settings in mobicontrol permit the device to have 5 minutes of inactivity before locking out. Some of the forums suggest the following script: Writesecuresetting –sys screen_off_timeout 120000 Applied as a legacy script, this doesn't have the desired effect of changing the timeout, but I'm guessing it should? I saw that write permissions may be blocking this kind of execution, does that impact a write script even from the mobicontrol console? Much obliged
Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab A8Mobicontrol Agent Version: 15.3.0.1006OS: Android 11 Hi, Some users of our tablets in lockdown mode are granted access to admin mode and can download items that they wouldn't be able to in lockdown mode (namely PDF files). In admin mode, tapping these in the browser automatically downloads them to the download folder. Is there a script or console function whereby we can enforce a daily/weekly/monthly purge of the downloads folder and delete anything in there? In Mobicontrol at least, I can't see anything obvious. Many thanks in advance!
Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab A8Mobicontrol Agent Version: 15.3.0.1006OS: Android 11 Hello, My lockdown profile houses a single tablet, and it's got an unusual issue where it cannot present the body of PDF documents. For context, I am unable to either download and open a PDF via browser, or view one hosted directly on an internal company webpage of ours. The closest factor I think may be affecting this is the blacklisting of the Internet Browser in Application control. When permitted, the window for the PDF will display, along with the title and the zoom feature at the bottom right. When blocked, the window will be completely white and no title, but the zoom feature remains. Scanning through feature control, I can't see any signs of blocking these from being viewable. Any advice? Happy to share more pertinent details. Many thanks
Hi guys, At the moment I am in a configuration process with Samsung Tab Active 3. When I apply a lockdown to a device I am unable to turn it off completely when I disable the statusbar. I guess this belongs to the function of bixby. So we want to create a virtual button which is visible on the lockdown. Does somebody know if this is possible? I would be really happy if someone can help me in this case.
