Hello, In Windows Classic, there is a prompt wherein the device user can input their device name when the agent is first started. I was wondering if that feature is possible in a Windows Modern setup or if there's a different approach where the user can input their device name upon enrollment. Thank you. - Zack
Hello, I have a problem when I try to enroll an old Zebra MC92N0 running Android 4.4. To summarize, the device was functional, but when I searched for it in Soti using the Serial Number or MAC address, I couldn't find it. So, I performed a factory reset, and now when I attempt to re enroll it, the device gives me the message: "This device has been un-Enrolled by the Administrator." Anyone know why I got that message and how can I get rid of it? Thanks for the help Mat
Hi everyone, I would like to delete a file on an Android device using the MobiControl Package Studio. The files were also copied to the device via a package. There is the possibility to add scripts in the Package Studio. Does anyone have any idea how I can use this to delete the files? Soti Mobicontrol 2024.01
Currently we are trialing TC57X devices. We are planning to use these for drivers that need to use Google Maps however I have been told that the screen times out after 30 minutes which means the driver needs to pull over and unlock the device to continue to use maps. I understand a device timing out when an app is not launched however I would assume that if maps is in use a device would stay unlocked? 30 minutes is the max limit within settings. Hi I’ve been experiencing issues with the MacOS Helper tool crashing ever since I started using MobiControl last year and Soti support have suggested that I install the 2024 version of the agent and helper tool on our Macs. My server is 15.6 but the support agent confirmed that the 2024 agent and helper tool are compatible with server 15.6, and resolve the crashing issue Unfortunately, they’re not very clear on *how* I should install these items. They’ve directed me to an old support article which suggests using an Application Catalog rule in the old style console, but I don’t see any way of using that type of rule in the old console and I think that this method has been replaced by App policies? I currently have a policy which installs the MobiControl app on MacOS devices but I believe that the agent and helper tool are separate, not part of the app. I tried making a policy to install the helper tool and agent but that just resulted in the managed devices getting into an endless loop of launching and crashing the MobiControl app. So I disabled that policy. I don’t see any way of installing the new agent and helper tool, other than manually on each device. Somehow the existing agent and helper tool were installed when I enrolled the devices, but I don’t see how that happened as I don’t see any policy which installed them. Hopefully someone has the answer. Thanks!
I'm working on creating a custom phone/dialer app.However, I'm having troubles with granting phone role to my app a.k.a. changing the default app for phone calls. Some tech details: We are using MobiControl Version: 15.6.5.1018 Support devices with android 10+. My devices are Zebra and most of them are model TC57x. Devices are in lockdown, showing kiosk dashboard. My app is requesting a phone app role as specified in herehttps://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/role/RoleManager I have blacklisted default phone apps via a Profile, like that: Profile -> Configuration -> App run controlBlacklistPhone - com.android.phoneZebra Phone - com.zebra.phone Then I've used a legacy script to grant all of the permissions to my custom phone app afw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.CALL_PHONE allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.READ_CONTACTS allowrestartagent However, when I do a phone call from my second device my custom phone app is not launched. It's even more interesting, as the locked device does not launch any app for the incoming call. How can I set my custom app to be default phone app?
Setup Samsung devices today and all are missing the home button icon whether in admin mode or kiosk mode. Have not seen this before. We have setup 5000 devices or more and have not run into this issue before. the recents and back button are there but the home button is missing, tried moving to another group with known device in this group having home button and it does not come down for this device.
Hey all!I would like to remove the "Recents" button while in lockdown. I have figured out up until now that you can do this by running lockdown in "Native" mode, this way the button does get removed. The problem is that I am using an app called "Velocity" in this app there are 2 seperate profiles, and I am using the "intent:" action to open the app with a specific profile For example: ProfileAProfileB #Intent;action=android.intent.action.MAIN;component=com.wavelink.velocity/.te.SplashActivity;S.openProfile=ProfileA;end;#Intent;action=android.intent.action.MAIN;component=com.wavelink.velocity/.te.SplashActivity;S.openProfile=ProfileB;end; This intent works when in Activity suppression mode, but not when in Native mode.The end goal is to have the intent working as intended, and have the recents button removed/disabled.

We use Android devices in our environment, and prevent system-wide access with SOTI's Lockdown menu. Currently we have Lockdown type as Avtivity Suppression, because we need to allow the expansion of status bar. Some of our users have also asked if recents-button can be enabled, but it's only available on Native-side, and that side does not have option for expanded status bar. Is there any way to enable both ot these at once using SOTI Lockdown, or are we out of options?
Hi, Does anyone know if you can grant a third party app Do Not Disturb Access permissions (Special app access) via script? My devices are in lockdown and so cannot access the settings application to grant the required permission manually.
