Whenever I try to remote control a Windows CE device, I am prompted to download and install the remote control plug-in (SotiRemoteControlInstaller.ms) and then restart my browser. Things worked for several months & then it suddenly fails. This is now the second machine with exactly the same behaviour. Sometimes, killing the SotiRemoteControlLauncher.exe & restarting the browser works, sometimes not. Similar to this issue, my remote control sessions do not work. Unfortunately, I am using Internet Explorer 11 and not google Chrome. the work around suggested in that thread does not work for me. Soti MobiControl: v13.3.0.3851 Desktop OS: Windows 10 v1709 (build 16299.492) Browser: IE 11, MS Edge, Google Chrome 67.0.xxx)
Hello there; do you have any idea how I can upgrade the RC version on my devices? All devices are the same brand and model. In older versions, RC does not work.
With which version of Soti MobiControl can we have this operation
Hi, we are working with the API of mobicontrol/soti and that works great. There is only 1 think i can't find: we want to Remote Control an Android device by clicking on 1 button from our own application. Does anybody know if this is possible? Example (i hope): https://sXXXXXXX.mobicontrolcloud.com/MobiControl/DeviceManagement/GetRemoteControlSharedDataHtml5?DeviceId=123456789abc Thanks for your reply
Hi, Is possible to set user prompt to accept remote connection on Android+ device? right now it's just connects automatically on the Samsung devices.
Hi everybody. On one of our MobiControl environments we experience the problem that HTML5-RemoteControl is not working while the RC-FullClient does. I know that the way of communication between these two possibilities is slightly different. Can anybody explain how communication works with HTML5-RC between Management-Server, Deployment-Server, workstation and mobile device? Thank you very much!
Hi, you have no idea how to install/restart APIs the remote control? The same location and installation.
Hi! Tried to use Remote Control for a TC56 device enrolled to a server running 14.1 and as Android Enterprise Manged Device. I know that we need a MDM plugin for Remote Control to work on Android Enterprise but none of the two versions did work for the TC56. Neither Legacy or Hawkeye. (not compatible) I have recently got this to work OK with the TC20 device. Is there some update planned?
Hi, We have some users that experiencing an issue when attempting to remote control a device using the non-html5 version. When they initially tried to use it, they were prompted to install the extra software to perform the function and everything worked as expected. Now (after a few months of working) when they launch the remote control session, they get prompted to install the software again. They go through the process and it fails, as it says it's already installed and then the remote control initiation fails. Any thoughts on how to resolve this? It seems to be a per-user/per-PC basis as it works fine for other users. Thanks
We're seeing a scenario with Remote Control on a Zebra WT6000 in which the screen is being either clipped or stretched. Is there anything we can do to avoid this? MobiControl 12.x
Is there a server side configurable value that controls the timeout of the Remote Control session?
I'm currently trying to open the remote control to a device from MobiControl 14 using the web based option, which uses SOTI Assist. When trying to open the connection, it returns the following error: Error: WebSocket closed without sending a close frame. Checking the logs, this is what it says: 2017-11-03 17:25:16,713 (null) 4 INFO NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Soti.RemoteControl.Logging.Logger Info Permission URL: https://sbimdm02.incasgroup.local/MobiControl/DeviceManagement/ 2017-11-03 17:25:19,338 (null) 4 ERROR NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Soti.RemoteControl.Logging.Logger Error failed to start host: WcfWebSocketChannelHost 2017-11-03 17:25:19,369 (null) 4 ERROR NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Soti.RemoteControl.Logging.Logger Exception System.PlatformNotSupportedException: This platform does not support server side WebSockets. at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpChannelListener`1..ctor(HttpTransportBindingElement bindingElement, BindingContext context) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpsChannelListener`1..ctor(HttpsTransportBindingElement httpsBindingElement, BindingContext context) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpsTransportBindingElement.BuildChannelListener[TChannel](BindingContext context) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.Binding.BuildChannelListener[TChannel](Uri listenUriBaseAddress, String listenUriRelativeAddress, ListenUriMode listenUriMode, BindingParameterCollection parameters) at System.ServiceModel.Description.DispatcherBuilder.MaybeCreateListener(Boolean actuallyCreate, Type[] supportedChannels, Binding binding, BindingParameterCollection parameters, Uri listenUriBaseAddress, String listenUriRelativeAddress, ListenUriMode listenUriMode, ServiceThrottle throttle, IChannelListener& result, Boolean supportContextSession) at System.ServiceModel.Description.DispatcherBuilder.BuildChannelListener(StuffPerListenUriInfo stuff, ServiceHostBase serviceHost, Uri listenUri, ListenUriMode listenUriMode, Boolean supportContextSession, IChannelListener& result) at System.ServiceModel.Description.DispatcherBuilder.InitializeServiceHost(ServiceDescription description, ServiceHostBase serviceHost) at System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostBase.InitializeRuntime() at System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostBase.OnOpen(TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.CommunicationObject.Open(TimeSpan timeout) at Soti.RemoteControl.Channel.WebSocket.Host.WcfWebSocketChannelHost.Start() at Soti.RemoteControl.Server.RemoteControlServer.Start(IReadOnlyList`1 hosts)
Hi, is there any way to also have Remote Control abilities for Android Enterprise (Work Managed) Samsung devices? I find it strange that I have to ask the user permission to simply be able to View their screen, even as a Device Owner. Is this a feature we can expect to have one day in MobiControl? Update: wanted to clarify that these are Samsung tablets. No separate remote control agent is available for download from SOTI's website.
Is support for the HTML5 Remote Control deprecated in v14? I select Web-based at this prompt but it launches the desktop app instead: EDIT: I don't think my picture attached correctly.
How come html 5 remote control only works on Windows 2012 or higher and not on Windows 2008 or Windows 7?
