The user is not permitted in the shared device configuration

Hello guys, I have an LDAP connection setup and working, can connect through it in the webconsole .. I can recover my LDAP groups in the Users/groups directories. If i had a group i'm belonging (or whoever) as adminstrators, then i had Shared Device Configuration to my devices with the group i'm belonging. (samsung S7 FE for example). My device now show the Shared Login screen, and on that screen if i input my username/pwd, it authenticate (success shows in logs). But return a message "Failed to authorize user 'username' because the user is not permitted in the shared device configuration" Agent V15.4.3 Build 1054 Server : 15.3 Any ideas on that ?  Thanks !

WT6300 - OS Downgrade script Solved

Hi,   Do we have a script that can run a delta os downgrade. Scenario for example, if a May release of android 11 made one of my application problematic and I need to rollback to an April delta update while I investigate the issue.   I have copied over a OS file via filesync and ran the script install_system_update /sdcard/Downgrade.zip - I get the message failed to install. I tried install_system_downgrade /sdcard/Downgrade.zip - nothing happens. I tried sendintent -b "intent:#Intent;action=com.symbol.intent.action.UPDATE_PACKAGE;S.file=/sdcard/Downgrade.zip;end" nothing happens   LIFEGUARD UPDATE 11-35-05.00-RG-U00 + Full UpdateRelease Date:  May 2023+ Delta Update (Applicable To 11-31-27.00-RG-U06)Release Date:  May 2023  LIFEGUARD UPDATE 11-31-27.00-RG-U06 + Full UpdateRelease Date:  April 2023+ Delta Update (Applicable To 11-31-27.00-RG-U02)

Newley added device not showing in 'All devices' list?

Hi, Hope someone can help. I have just added two Samsung Android mobiles, in just the same way I have always added them before by scanning my QR code to add them as a managed work profile. Both these newly added devices have updated with all settings, downloaded the apps from the play store and are reporting that the agent status is indeed connected. However, they are not appearing on my Mobicontol devices list when I look online. I have searched, filtered and looked in all groups and they are not hidden anywhere! I have a policy in place to prevent remote reset so without seeing and managing them through the web I cant manage the device either. Please help!?

Enterprise Wi-Fi profile no longer applying to certain devices Solved

Hi all, I have a problem with an existing Android enterprise Wi-Fi profile which I created a year or so ago, it pushes the hidden SSID network with the RADIUS certificate (which expires 2027) to all "manager" devices across our entire company. An authentication profile is deployed with some other bits and pieces in another profile as that is a requirement for the certificate. The new SSID has only been available at our head office over the last year, and our 8 other offices were going to get the enterprise SSID at a later date. For the past year this profile has been working fine at our head office and hasn't been changed in that time either. The enterprise SSID configuration has been copied across our other 8 sites over the last month via Aruba Central and I have seen most enrolled devices connect to it automatically as they already had the profile in place from when it was implemented a year ago to all manager devices. This should allow all manager devices to join even if they are at a different location to normal. And that should be the end of it! I started noticing a few devices not joining the hidden SSID automatically when other devices in the same location were joining fine... and I thought perhaps the managers had their Wi-Fi switched off on their device, so I pushed a SOTI script to enable the Wi-Fi radio... no luck. I also found that some devices had automatically made the users aware of an open "Guest" SSID in the same location we have available, and they tried to join that instead but it's a captive portal which requires a logon so does nothing, it in fact breaks their internet connection. "Forgetting" the Guest SSID forced some devices onto the correct SSID. But some were still not joining the required SSID. In an attempt to force all devices off of the Guest SSID in case that was the problem, I created a new Wi-Fi profile for the Guest SSID and applied it to my device (which was already happily on the correct hidden enterprise Wi-Fi) and I then revoked the profile in an attempt to make it "forget" the Guest Wi-Fi. This worked as expected but for some reason forgot the enterprise SSID that I want manager devices to be on at the same time. Strange I thought, so I revoked that enterprise Wi-Fi profile and reinstalled again. SOTI thinks it's applied, the device thinks it's applied (within the SOTI MobiControl profile list), the device gets the certificate, but the SSID network does not join. I would expect to see it in the "known Wi-Fi" list, but nothing appears. I've removed it from the group, applied it again, restarted, forgotten all network settings and applied it, recreated a brand-new profile to apply the same SSID again, nothing. I cannot deploy this hidden enterprise SSID that hasn't changed or this Wi-Fi profile which also hasn't changed to this device that has happily been using it for the past year. I have the same issue with my colleague in the same office, we re-created the exact same steps, and he cannot join this Wi-Fi now either. I have checked 2/3 other users that I was struggling to see on the correct SSID and can confirm via SOTI remote control that they also do not know of this SSID.  I enrolled a brand-new device and that picked up all of the configurations as expected, so it does work... but is just being selective! I spoke to SOTI support and asked them to restart our cloud instance or services as it seems like a niggle rather than a configuration error/issue. No luck. We were running MobiControl 15.6.0 and I requested they upgrade to the latest version 15.6.4 because our devices are running the latest MobiControl agent from the Google Play Store and I thought they may be some incompatibility mismatch where the agent has upgraded faster than the MobiControl instance. After the MobiControl upgrade, still no luck. I still have the case open with SOTI but I’m at a loss, I have literally no idea why it won't work for certain devices. No config changes have been made with MobiControl at all! It has been happily working at one site for a year and additional sites were seemingly working as I was adding them and now my device at head office is playing silly buggers, it just seems to be certain devices. Not a specific Android version or type of device, random! Any ideas welcome! If someone had the same issue and a fix, even better!

    Wi-fi doesnt re-connect after losing a signal

Hello everybody,[WHAT]Wifi disconnects and doesnt reconnect while signal is lostUsers are allowed to only enable or disable wifi itself, but that unfortunately doesnt re-connect to wifi when available. (we had a problem where when they were able to modify, they kept pressing "forget wifi" and complined)So users result to reboot the device, which solves the issue, but we are car company and each position has about a minute to finish his part on a car. So if somebody doesnt do theirs, because he had to reboot a phone it doesnt look very well. For short:Iam looking for a script (idealy), that would be something like SETWIFI SSID PASSWOD.or any other "connect to this wifi right now and non other" button that I can place in Kiosk.EDIT:I know that settings manager 14.4. doesnt show wifi network to clicks on it.and Setting manager 15.6. unfortunately allows to remove stored wifi even if define that "modify" is not allowed

Updating/Writing to INI file on Android Solved

Hi all, I have been working with a Honeywell CT40 to iron out the configuration before we roll it out to our end users and the last thing I am struggling with is having the built-in SmartTE app use the device name for the WSID. I figure the best way to do with would be to write the SOTI %MCDEVICENAME% to the staylink.ini file where the app hosts this file. Is there any way to script this out? This realistically only needs to be done either when the device is configured or renamed

    Enforce mobile data

Hi, I'm trying to prevent user from turning off mobile data from quick panel (without disabling whole quick panel). According to the documentation this script should do the trick "writeprivateprofstring DeviceFeature DisableCellularData 2 apply featurecontrol" but it behaves the same as "DisableCellularData 1" (tried that too) option = it turn off mobile data and block user from turning it on - exact opposite from what I would like to achieve. Device: Samsung Galaxy A34 5G (latest Android 13 OS) Management Type: Work Managed Device (KPE Status Active - Standard) Agent version: 15.4.2.1025 Mobicontrol: 15.6.1.1048 Does anybody have any tips or clues? Thanks

App Catalog Rule - Adding a private app from managed Google Play

I'm not sure what I'm missing here but I'm hoping someone can help me out. Ultimately, I'm trying to add my app to an application catalog rule using the Managed Google Play Applications option.  Here's what I've done. In Google Play Console I've set my organization, set the app to private, created a release for Production, uploaded the apk, and released it. Everything looks right. It says it has been released, is active, and says it is available on Google Play. The dashboard even gives me a link to view it on Google Play, though the link goes to a page that isn't found (which might be expected for a private app). When I try to add my app in MobiControl it isn't there. But I know the organization link is working correctly because I can approve apps in the managed Play Store and they show up. Does anyone have any idea what I might be missing?
