Access certain part of SOTI MobiControl app by default when in lockdown mode

Hi all, A bit of a strange and niche request here but I am hoping that I can access the "Content Library" part of the SOTI MobiControl app directly from a lockdown mode on Android. Very similar to how you would launch the notifications part of the application by using action://net.sotimobicontrol.VIEW_NOTIFICATIONS - we use this for notifications and it works very well. My reason for this is we want to issue this device to drivers as part of our fleet and although we aren't concerned about them accessing the rest of the SOTI MobiControl app, the Content Library is the most useful part of it for them so i'd like to make it the "default" view when they launch it via the lockdown mode if possible. I know it's unlikely and I have opened a case with SOTI as well, they are investigating but asked me to post here incase anyone had done similar. Thanks, Mike

impossible to reconnect to soti server with the wired network after a reboot Solved

hello,We own Zebra TC57 docker terminals connected to a wired network via charging docks. We restart them with a planned task when they are all wired to the charging dock.Following this restart, some terminals cannot connect to the mobicontrol server via the wired network whereas some can, very randomly.I tried to unplug the wired network and all my Zebra TC57 terminals so it connects using wifi.Following this, the Zebra TC57 terminals are rebooted and all of them reconnect normally but on wifi.I think there is a problem with the soti agent application or with tC57 terminals. We have noticed this problem since an update from android 8 to android 11. SOTI APK: 15.4.6.1013Soti server version: 15.6.5.1018

    TC57 Repeated Restarts After Update

We have recently started updating our TC57s from Android 8.1 to Android 11 using the latest FULL_UPDATE available through Zebra. I setup a package in our MobiControl with an install_system_update command baked into it. The update name is below. HE_FULL_UPDATE_11-38-02.00-RG-U00-STD-HEL-04.zip After doing these updates, certain phones have been repeatedly doing a boot loop where the phones crash. Nothing in MobiControl suggests it is an intended restart. Logs on the device don't really give any good information either. Is anyone aware of an issue in relation to updating these phones?

MobiControl Agent for Paybird PAX A920 Solved

Hello. One of our clients has terminals Paybird PAX A920. We installed the client for this brand and the client works correctly. For us to use this client, the agent apk was sent to them so that they could place it in their store and only then we were able to install and configure the agent. They conduct tests to verify the installers that are in their store and recently they sent us a report saying the installer failed the tests. The report said: SOTI Mobicontrol:  Reject Reason: This application uses the Inject Events Android permission. That is not authorized on PAX Terminals For this application to continue in the store, a new version has to be generated and the android permission inject_events has to be removed. The version of the agent that is installed is  14.4.2.1039. Is there any new version of the agent that has this permission removed? If so, where can I get it? Thank you Nuno

Account creation failed. Please click to try again

Hi, one of our clients has their own separate MobiControl server for their devices. This server and their devices are on a closed network which does NOT have access to the internet. The MobiControl server in question is version 14.4.5.1048. I enrolled a handful of Android 11 devices (Zebra TC52X), and regularly MobiControl will take over the focus on these devices and display this message: Google Play accountAccount creation failed. Please click to try again. There are a number of devices enrolled there which do not have this message constantly popping up, those devices are running Android 8.1 and were enrolled earlier (3-4 years ago when the server was installed). I'm suspecting this may be a network related issue, i.e. that the client must open for some port on their network. If that is correct, which port should I get them to open? The fact that the older 8.1 devices don't have this problem: is that a clue regarding what could be the problem?

    Activity Suppression Lockdown Issue Solved

Good Morning, I have an application running on an Android Plus device (Zebra TC52) that requires the ActionNotificationPolicyAccessSettings permission in order to change music/alarm/ring volume. I'm running into an issue where my application is requesting these permissions, but then Mobi Control is hiding the device settings window so users can't toggle the required permissions on. Is there a way to execute this intention and bypass the activity suppression?  Thanks, Mark

Best Practices to Prevent Issues with FRP Solved

We have been using SOTI for a while now to manage Zebra devices running in kiosk mode. We want to start using SOTI for company phones issued to employees. I decided to use the company owned personal device enrollment to maintain control while allowing the users to use the device like a personal phone. I was wondering what the best method is to prevent issues with factory reset protection if the employee is termed and leaves suddenly. If I use the recovery menu to factory reset when there is a pin enabled it prompts for the pin or a google account.

Change Font Size in Lockdown Mode Solved

We have all of our devices in lockdown mode, however, many users are requesting to change their font size. The Samsung Knox kiosk mode has this in their settings menu, however, SOTI's Settings Manager does not. I know we can use legacy scripts to change this remotely but I'd prefer the user to be able to do it on their own. The default font size is fine for most, but specific users that can't see well need the font increased. Our devices are Android 13, Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3.

    Calculator App after Upgrade

Recently, we have started to upgrade our TC57s from Android 8.1 to Android 11. The one problem that we have noticed is that the Calculator app package name is changing. The main issue with this is that it is not consistent among the devices we have upgraded and it ends up being one of the two names below. com.google.android.calculatorcom.android.calculator2 The kiosk profile is setup using com.google.android.calculator so any phone using the other one is not finding the app on the kiosk screen and is giving the error "package not found." The app in the Google Play Store only shows installed if the first package name is used, and when I try installing it when it is named the other way, I get an error. What is the best way to resolve this issue? We have considered using another app from the Google Play Store entirely to avoid this issue, but I don't like the idea of using some random app that could be taken off the store at any moment and cause mass issues.
