    How to switch lockdown profiles automatically

    I am looking for a way to change the lockdown profile either manually on the tablet or automatically to enable a dark mode profile when the sun sets. What is the best way to go about this?

    is there a way to skip to the latest System update on Samsung Tab A7 tablets using SOTI? Solved

    We have about 50 Samsung Tablets that have been sitting in our storage room. We have enrolled them into soti. Our problem is that they have been sitting in storage so long, the updates have piled up. So far, I have not found a way to quickly get through the updates. Each device is taking about 4 hours. Is there a script we can send to the tablets to auto start updates or even skip to the latest update?

    Surf Offline capabilities

    Hey, We are trying to use surf as a browser for a custom app however it uses offline storage if the connection goes down we have tested it and it dosnet seem to work. Can anyone confirm if there is a setting we can use to get it working or even if we can use Chrome in kiosk mode instead and if so how?  Cheers David

    How do you stop end users from enabling a pin or password lock on Mobicontrol Kiosk with Samsung tablets? Solved

    I work for a library where we lend out tablets to our patrons. I get them back at the end of the lending period and wipe data from them for the next patron to borrow. The issue is that recently I've gotten two devices returned; one locked behind a pin and another with a password set and I can't get into them..  I initially called Soti support and they told me I had the correct settings set that should block this; using kiosk/lockdown mode with an authentication rule with a password set. And since I have the ‘factory reset” option blocked by Mobicontrol I can’t factory reset the device.. Soti support couldn’t help me further. Fortunately for the pin I was able to contact the patron and they told me the pin. I asked them how they set the pin and they said they didn't know. Saying maybe it was by pairing the tablet with their phones. With a same model test tablet that run the same profile as the ones we lend out I ran a test, pairing my smartphone with the tablet but afte trying it several times I didn't find any way that triggered or prompted me to set a pin so I don't know how they did that. The second one where it's asking for a password, the patron's phone number isn't working and I don't think I can get a hold of them easily to ask. The device at present isn't on wifi so no Mobicontrol cloud connection and I can't do anything with it without it asking for a password, including power cycling it.   I have two questions: Is there another setting(s) I need to enable/disable to block this type of thing from happening again? Let me know if you know what else I should adjust in the profile for our devices to prevent this from happening again.  Any other tips for accessing the password protected tablet? I’m thinking if I can’t get the password from the patron then it's stuck.. But I’d thought I’d ask in case I’m missing something I could do/try.   What I have set on these devices: -They're locked in kiosk/lockdown mode with an authentication rule and password set (password policy type disable lockscreen). -We’re using android enterprise and these are work managed devices provisioned/enabled with a managed google play accounts. -The password protected tablet is using agent v15.4.6.1013 and the tablet itself is a Galaxy Tab S5e (all our tablets are this model) -I have the factory reset blocked in feature control (the idea was I wanted to keep knowledgeable end users from wiping/stealing our devices..)     monitor use/activity of a scanner/device (Zebra TC5x/Mc93) Solved

    Hi, I would like to know how I can see if a device is actively being used. We receive many requests for new scanners and I have to inform management whether the scanners they already have are actually being used. I have looked at agent connection time and disconnected time, but this is of no use to me because the device is always on a charger and therefore always connected to Mobicontrol. We use Velocity to a large extent. Can I do something with this? Or are there other options to monitor something? Consider data (wifi) use. So something that allows me to see that the scanner is being used and make an export of this. Preferably also at the location.

    Zebra MC9300 operating system upgrade with SOTIMobiControl Solved

    Morning, We need to upgrade the Android OS of our RF terminal Zebra MC9300 (20 x devices) from Android 10 to Android 11 + patches. All the devices are already managed by SOTI for application deployment but we do not use the OS update deployement feature from SOTI. Can we create a group of devices that will receive the OS upgrade for testing then when the test is concluant add all other devices to the group? We also have VC8300, can we create a group by model as well in SOTI for the same purpose? Can someone explain how we can proceed? Thks for your help

    Unable to Remove Factory Reset Device from Web Console

    Hello all, We sent in a device for repair, and it had to be factory reset during the process. Trying to unenroll/delete the device from the Web Console does not work. It falsely shows the device as Active, and when I try to initiate a command, the error I receive is "1 device(s) have no user access rights to execute this action". Under (Global Settings -> MobiControl Search Sync Interval) I tried to force a sync, which seemed to help other administrators, but it did not yield any success on our end.  The end goal is to delete this false-active device, and re-enroll it properly into the system. This is an Android device if that makes any difference. Thank you in advance!

    Updating device with new profile taking long time..

    Hi. mobicontrol 15.6TC52x deviceAndroid 10 We have a single apk that runs on our work managed devices When new apk needs pushing to device, I upload the pcg file (from mcpkg studio) and assign it in the profile. Until just recently, the device would get updated within like 5min... Not anymore for some reason. I've tried manually Checkin the device but I cannot seem to trigger it to update/install the new apk.  I am not sure what triggers it.   I have no Assign|Options set other than defaults. The devices are on a 2hr Update Schedule. It is now taking anywhere from 20min to an hour or more.  It used to be no longer than 5min. Any ideas on how to get it out of the "Pending Install" phase ?

    Android Enterprise Enrollment in devices without camera

    Hello, I'm currently enroll my devices with one QrCode and then use the device camera or device scanner. Now I need to enroll one type of device without camera and scanner. I try to use the MobiControl Stage Programmer app with NFC but this app only works on older version of Android - newer version doesn't have Android Beam. What's the best alternative to enroll these devices? Thanks.

    Mobisys 3.10.00 : Import profiles into Android 11

    Goodmorning, I'm able to import Mobisys profiles into android 11, but extra permissions are needed. Does anyone know how to configurate the permissions trough an *.xml fille or file sync rule. See attached pictures for the permissions which will be needed.

    Honeywell CT60 camera Solved

    Hello everyone! I'm facing a minor issue with my Honeywell CT60 devices running Android 10. When I enroll these devices in Soti, the camera becomes inaccessible, even though no configuration or profile changes are being pushed. Performing a factory reset restores camera functionality. However, as soon as I enroll the device in Soti, the camera vanishes again. I've checked the device settings, specifically under "Applications and Notifications," and verified that Soti has permission to use the camera. I've tried searching for a solution, but haven't found any similar cases. If anyone has an idea to restore camera access, I'd greatly appreciate your help. Thank you!
