hello,We own Zebra TC57 docker terminals connected to a wired network via charging docks. We restart them with a planned task when they are all wired to the charging dock.Following this restart, some terminals cannot connect to the mobicontrol server via the wired network whereas some can, very randomly.I tried to unplug the wired network and all my Zebra TC57 terminals so it connects using wifi.Following this, the Zebra TC57 terminals are rebooted and all of them reconnect normally but on wifi.I think there is a problem with the soti agent application or with tC57 terminals. We have noticed this problem since an update from android 8 to android 11. SOTI APK: 15.4.6.1013Soti server version: 15.6.5.1018
Is it possible to read some information like names or IDs from another installed application on a Soti managed device? For example we have an app called Route Master ( or Sono) and for the sake of security we want to know the name of the person that is using each device. To use Route Master each user has to insert an unique ID and name in the app, sort of like an account.
Hi, MobiControl issue since upgrading: I have downloaded Device Manager 4.0, I have tried to manually add the apk to a new app policy (selecting enterprise not google play as the app source) - I receive the error: You have selected a file with incorrect format. Please select another .apk file. This issue has only started to occur since upgrading to Mobi ControlVersion: 15.6.5.1018 Im sure the apk is sound, I have the same issue when trying to upload Zebra apk's - has anyone else had this issue or do they have any work arounds.
Hi there, I'm trying to create an icon in the lockdown screen to automatically enable Zebra Datawedge. I found the following intent that works correctly if I send it via "send script" feature: sendintent -b "intent:#Intent;action=com.symbol.datawedge.api.ACTION;S.com.symbol.datawedge.api.ENABLE_DATAWEDGE=true;end" but when I configure the lockdown profile adding an intent: item, the icon has been added to the lockdown but, when I press it, the popup "Activity not fiound" is showed. I'm using Zebra TC21 Android 11 device. Any suggestion? Thank you,
Because Android 11 doesnt allow access to the android/data folder we are only able to export a Datawedge profile in Android 10. Is there a way to change the Datawedge save path so you can export the profile to a diferent path. Did anyone test to import a datawedge profile into Android 13.
Hi, I've been asked to make sure that our Zebra devices always have the highest LifeGuard security updates installed.Unfortunately, some of our devices are seasonally used devices. Some are also in continuous use.Now Zebra has full updates and then delta updates.I would like to have the updates done with a FileSync at the weekend, maybe with the help of the task scheduler. How do you distribute the updates? I would need the following functionality somehow:If "OEM Version" < Full Update then install Full Updateif "OEM Version" < Delta 1 Update then Install Delta 1".if "OEm Version" < Delta 2 Update then Install Delta 2".and so on.Unfortunately, we will have very different versions as the systems gradually report in. But something like "if" does not seem to work with the legacy Scripting. With JavaScript I currently dont see the option to get the information from "OEM Version" How could I best solve this? I would then build in another IF query for each upcoming version until a new full update comes along at some point.
HeysanWe have seen one of our clients, also using Soti MobiControl, have added buttons to the lockdown screen. When they press the button, a new page with new buttons or apps opens up. If the press back, it goes back to the main page. Have anyone here had success adding subpages to the lockdown screen, that opens when you press a button on the screen or anything similar? We have a client who could benefit from such a solution. On the main screen they have a standard lockdown profile from the standard template. They have 9 apps but would like a button to access a manuals page, where we add links to open pdfs on the device directly. (using the file command)We don't allow them access to the file manager on the device, which btw is a Zebra TC26.
ello dear Soti users, we have received information from the IT management that we should please make sure that we are using the latest Android updates. We are using different Zebra MC33 and Zebra MC33X in one department. For the MC33 there is only android8 available, so I guess we have to ditch those device. But for the MC33X there is Android 11 availabe. We are using Android 10 devices set up as Work Managed Device for the MC33X. In your opinion, what is the best and most stress-free (for the user) procedure to distribute the update without a large downtime (at best on the weekend)? In my last test I had the update file copied to the sdcard and executed the command install_system_update /sdcard/Download/HE_DELTA_UPDATE_10-16-10.00-QG-U44-STD-HEL-04.zip This could be synchronized accordingly with a filesync or profile in advance and make a script execution on the weekend, for example, via a scheduled task. Hope to hear your recommendation.
Hi, sorry for the bad title.Can I use the same scanner profile for all my Zebra MC3300X, but with different applications running depending on which scanner it is. I have them sorted per application in different organizational units.I have soti surf running on all of them and different web applications.I don't want to give the user the option to choose which web application to start. I find it not practical to have 6 profiles just for different web links we use on the scanners, but with the same basic configurationI have the newest version of Mobicontrol running and also the newest Android Enterprise agent.Are there best practices I'm missing or maybe a setting i can use for this?In any case, thanks for reading and your helpBest RegardsFlorian
I have a zebra TC77 device that is enrolled and locked down and everything seems perfect, except for the fact that if you hold the home key you will get the popup for Google Assistant. I have no idea why it is happening with this group of devices because every other group I have deployed this way is not having this issue. (see photo) I am super new to Soti so I assume I am missing something but I am hoping that it is something that I can just turn off on the Soti side and not have to do on the Zebra StageNow side. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Tim
Hello SOTI Community, Here is what I'm trying to enable across all my TC57X Zebra android 10 handheld devices. I need to enable to this setting in mobicontrol . However I don't know to add this setting. Would this be enabled under work profiles? ETC? - I would like to assign this setting to all of our devices once added into mobicontrol for maybe 1 or 2 devices for testing. - Maybe I'll have remote into all the devices individually to enable this setting but that would be time consuming. Hope maybe the community has some suggestions. Settings>about phone > build number tap 6-7 times to enable developer mode> go back to settings home page > press system> press advanced> press Developer options> go to apps sections > Enable “Don’t keep Activities “~ Destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it. I'm seeing most new Zebra devices shipping with Android 11 and the replacement for the TC72 releasing soon. I've been looking at solution to the scoped storage issue when installing enterprise browser and enterprise keyboard. Using mainly TC72s with Android Enterprise automated enrollment. (AFW#) I've seen a solution to use file transfer to copy the config.xml and a script to %sdcard% and using mx to run the script and transfer the config to /enterprise/device/enterprisebrowser/. The issue is when I look at Zebra folders I only see /enterprise/usr/ and not the /device/ directory. I've tried using mkdir in the script, but that doesn't seem to work. Wondering if anyone has run into this or found a better solution for enterprise browser. (saw some people using managed configs through google play for velocity)
Hello, I use the following adb command to change the resolution of my ZEBRA ET51 tablets. adb shell wm size 1280x800 My client's apk requires us to change the resolution of the tablet to not have tiny buttons.It works very well. My client wants to enroll all his ET51 tablets in his MOBICONTROL console. How to apply this resolution change in MOBICONTROL? Is it possible to run an adb command? I am looking for a way to trigger StageNow on a Zebra MC9300 to consume an XML. I would like to do this with JavaScript because I need to edit the XML with device data before I consume the file. The only way I currently know how to trigger the device to consume the XML file is with a legacy script but really don't want to have to run 2 different scripts to edit and consume the file.
