Hi We have a small selection of Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 devices that have been upgraded to Android 9 (Pie) (there's another thread asking how I stop the upgrade and that has been resolved). These devices have been enrolled via Android Enterprise and are running agent version 13.7.3.1045 Our servers is on 14.1.4.1693 The devices have Kiosk Mode enabled (it's a legacy thing, don't judge). Can anyone think of a reason why when the user clicks on MobiControl from the kiosk screen it will not open (goes black screen then returns to the kioskscreen). If you administratively remove the kiosk then MobiControl opens as normal when clicked on and the users can access content manager. The app name is set up correctly in the Kiosk Mode settings and works properly on Android 7 and 8.1. All suggestions welcome. Eddie
Is there any ability to leverage Managed Configs or an external config file for the Stage Programmer application? I would like to provision a fleet of deployed COSU devices with a pre-configured Stage Programmer application that could then be used to provision any devices that come back from repair that need to be re-enrolled or even net new devices being added to the inventory. It would be ideal to be able to pre-configure that application so that we don't need to share staging WiFi details or the enrollment ID with anyone in the facility. I picture a Managed Configuration provisioning the application with all of the details and then obscuring the details automatically from any end users who launch the app.
Hi, I have some Samsung Tab Active 2 devices currently on Android 8.1 which will start to receive updates for Android 9. I don't want them to do this as our app (loaded via package & profile) has not been tested on this version. The question of how to block an OS update has been asked before via this link and an example was given for set_system_update_policy , which I have applied. My question is: didn't there not used to be an option within Feature Control to stop all firmware updates? And if anyone has any other tips to stop the updates through MobiControl I'm all ears. Eddie
I'm trying to install MobiControl agent on Samsung Galaxy Tab e. I have this profile on 31 other tablets, with no issue. Now when I try installing to new tablet, it appears to install successfully until I get to this message: Password policy pending - Password does not conform to password policy Password requirement - new password must be specified that meets the following criteria: must be at least four characters, requires numeric characters. In profile, authentication, I have a four digit code for the admin password. I have to perform a hard reset because security policy prevents changing settings, so I'm unable to go to settings to do a factory reset. Tried different versions of MobiControl agent, they all do the same thing. It is partially installed because I'm able to see it in my list of devices, and I'm able to remote control it. I had this issue a while back when trying to install a newer version of the agent (13.6), but then backed down to 13.5.1 and it was fine. This issue I'm having now started after I cloned the profile to make a separate but similar profile to another group of tablets. I installed the agent using the new enrollment username and password so that it receives the new profile. When I received the password policy error, I tried again with other agent versions, but same result. After the last hard reset, I installed the original profile using the original enrollment username/password. Now that is getting to the same spot (Password policy error) and I can't continue. I know the four digit code works, because I tested it on a working tablet. I don't know how modifying the clone profile affected the original profile, but somehow it did. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. Trying to install a new package with higher version string, updated application for our app. Running MobiControl version 13.0.0.33822 for this customer. When I'm installing the package I get this from the Logs: Package "SAS" version 5.3 failed to install. File IO error on device. Error message received from device (Failed to install application null from package SAS.pcg) Anyone have some suggestions on how to fix this?
Our MobiControl-Environment is fully firewalled, with 14.3 there is this new functionality for Agent Updates but "agent update service" isnt using any SOTI-Services FQDN or Loadbalanced IPs as in: https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.3/en/index.html#setup/installing/soti_services.html In Server-Logs i observed that Management-Services / Deployment Server tried to connect to Amazon AWS over several IPs. Has some one figured out the FQDN for "agent update service" or can someone from support give us a full list of loadbalanced IPs?
Dear All, how we can clear cache from Firefox on android device .
We have recently had a TC56 returned from zebra with android 8.1.0 installed however after installing ZebraMobiControl1370_1031 we are presented with a device agent is incompatible with your device error and the device will not enroll into the server. The server is running version 13.3.0.3851 on this server. Is there a workaround for this? Regards
I would like to get a list that shows which version of a specific app is installed on all/selected devices. For example I want to see how many devices have WhatsApp installed on them and which version is installed on each device. Is there a way to do this without creating a custom report? If not, then our MobiControl is on the cloud and to have this report made by Soti support requires that the company pays a fee but since this might be a one time thing it might be more feasible to design the custom report myself. However I'd need the DB details & table names on our instance of MobiControl so is this something that Soti provides or not? Using MobiControl 14.1.4.1693 with Android Plus devices.

We use the enterprise home screen to let the users start just one App. The Citrix receiver does have option to "copy to home screen" , in this way the shortcut is available in the Enterprise home screen. The new Citrix Workspace App does not have that option anymore, Citrix told us that this will be new status "As Designed" not planned near future te get the option back. Before we start enrolling this new Citrix app we need to find another way to fully secure the WT6000 device for the end users. Does anyone have any idea we can try? Help appreciated!
MC Server 14.2, Client = Win 10 LTSCLooking at MC for managing some Windows desktop devices that are external to our AD domain network. The lockdown seems a little immature at this point though. You can specify an auto login userID but the lockdown doesn't prevent signing out or switching users and the lockdown only logs in on boot. Signing out will just dump you out to a login page rather than re-logging back in.It also seems that if you specify a "user" as the auto login account that you can run task manager (and start things) but if you specify an admin that you cannot run task manager. I would normally assume that I want a nonAdmin user as the auto login but it doesn't seem that way works very well. Unfortunately the SOTI docs (that I can find) are silent on these issues. Anyone already done this or have any insight?
We are using Zebra TC70x GMS devices running Android 7.1.2 and 8.1 with MobiControl using work Managed device and Lockdown Mode. The devices are connected using WiFi and with Secure Pulse VPN to connect to our network. We use Managed Google Play applications and app config to get the for automatic app installation and configuration. We also have Always On VPN enabled, we have set net.pulsesecure.pulsesecure in Feature Control, Always On VPN settings. We face two issues:- Always On VPNIf we enroll a new device or move a device between groups without and to Feature Control (and Always On VPN) enabled, Always On VPN connects automatically. But if we reboot the device it won't connect and go Always On (manually clicking connect works). After a reboot and the device going into Lockdown Mode, we can see a Secure Pulse icon in the notifications bar showing the VPN service is running. A couple of minutes later another icon is added showing a user certificate error message (unable to access users security certificate). Again, clicking Connect manually works.- Device offline with Always On VPN setting enabled in Feature ControlWe are unable to contact devices in groups with Feature Control / Always ON VPN enabled. In the MobiControl app, Agent status blinking Connected/Disconnected. Switching from Lockdown Mode to Admin Mode works, Agent status is Connected. If we move the device to a group without Feature Control / Always On VPN the device is connected, the same goes even if VPN is manually connected. This to me confirms the offline issue is related to Secure Pulse Always On VPN and MobiControl. We have allowed VPN traffic based on the recommendations below.
