This kind of error is the status quo of SOTI's MDM especially with apple devices. Lots of strange errors. I really wouldn't recommend this for iOS management unless you have no other choice. All of my users are unable to launch soti surf after the 2024 update was pushed a couple of days ago. The application "opens" as if a window is opening and the application immediately closes. These are devices which had a configuration profile for the app with several settings enabled to lock down the browser as we use these to access an internal web page and nothing else. I've tried updating and creating new configuration profiles for the app but they do not apply. It says configuration failed or configuration pending. I am able to apply profiles for other applications and configurations, but not soti surf. I have setup a new ipad from scratch, enrolled in mdm. My existing profile does nothing and gives me an install failed error. After the install failed, I created a brand new profile and attempted to assign it to the ipad and it now has a removal pending of the old install failed profile and a pending install for the new application profile. I've tried checking the device in and nothing happens. I'm on a mobicontrol hosted cloud server version 15.6.3.1018. Does anyone have the same issue? Is there a known configuration combination that must be updated to for this to be supported? There are so many issues with mobicontrol.
Is it possible to run Package studio as command line app so it can be incorporated into our build servers? I can see this has been asked before here: SOTI Discussion Forum But that was some 4 years ago. I've tried to use the file linked in the discussion before that: SOTI Discussion Forum But it doesn't seem to generate a file, it just fails silently with no error. I've contact support to ask and they've said they only fix things and that I need to ask here instead?
I would like to extract a repot that shows me all profiles and which devices they are assigned (the other way around also works), in a way that doesn't require me to go profile by profile, or device by device. On the Global Reports I only see the option to run it one profile at a time. Or doing a search by each profile...Today we have 81 "Assigned" profiles distributed around 269 devices. I know a few are set to only one or two devices, and were created in the past to test some settings or deploy a update but where never cleared. I need to see what is actually relevant so we can make a clean up. We have MobiControl v14.4.4.1045
I have a customer who cannot use SOTI Surf as it looks like it is acting in desktop mode instead of mobile mode. Is there a configuration option to force it to work in mobile mode, like for example Google Chrome?
We have recently started updating our TC57s from Android 8.1 to Android 11 using the latest FULL_UPDATE available through Zebra. I setup a package in our MobiControl with an install_system_update command baked into it. The update name is below. HE_FULL_UPDATE_11-38-02.00-RG-U00-STD-HEL-04.zip After doing these updates, certain phones have been repeatedly doing a boot loop where the phones crash. Nothing in MobiControl suggests it is an intended restart. Logs on the device don't really give any good information either. Is anyone aware of an issue in relation to updating these phones?
Hi, We are enrolling iOS devices, on which we have pushed managed applications on the devices. These Application policies worked fine. Now, We have configured Feature Control Policy where we have disabled screenshot, thinking it will work for only managed applications (As there is no seprate profiles in iOS). But the Screenshot is now disabled for whole device even tho the device is enroled in User Type. Let me know how can i restrict th data leakage or sharing of managed application.
I'm trying to set up a QR code to allow me to enrol an Android device using a Corporate Personal profile. For fully managed devices, I use "PROVISIONING_MODE":"FULLY_MANAGED_DEVICE" and for work profile devices I use "PROVISIONING_MODE":"WORK_MANAGED" What is the "provisioning mode" for a Corporate Personal device? Thanks! James
Hello. One of our clients has terminals Paybird PAX A920. We installed the client for this brand and the client works correctly. For us to use this client, the agent apk was sent to them so that they could place it in their store and only then we were able to install and configure the agent. They conduct tests to verify the installers that are in their store and recently they sent us a report saying the installer failed the tests. The report said: SOTI Mobicontrol: Reject Reason: This application uses the Inject Events Android permission. That is not authorized on PAX Terminals For this application to continue in the store, a new version has to be generated and the android permission inject_events has to be removed. The version of the agent that is installed is 14.4.2.1039. Is there any new version of the agent that has this permission removed? If so, where can I get it? Thank you Nuno
Is it possible to read some information like names or IDs from another installed application on a Soti managed device? For example we have an app called Route Master ( or Sono) and for the sake of security we want to know the name of the person that is using each device. To use Route Master each user has to insert an unique ID and name in the app, sort of like an account.
Hi, one of our clients has their own separate MobiControl server for their devices. This server and their devices are on a closed network which does NOT have access to the internet. The MobiControl server in question is version 14.4.5.1048. I enrolled a handful of Android 11 devices (Zebra TC52X), and regularly MobiControl will take over the focus on these devices and display this message: Google Play accountAccount creation failed. Please click to try again. There are a number of devices enrolled there which do not have this message constantly popping up, those devices are running Android 8.1 and were enrolled earlier (3-4 years ago when the server was installed). I'm suspecting this may be a network related issue, i.e. that the client must open for some port on their network. If that is correct, which port should I get them to open? The fact that the older 8.1 devices don't have this problem: is that a clue regarding what could be the problem?
Hi We are trying to enroll windows devices which is connected with active directory domain controller. but the enrollment failed. but we can enroll workgroup devices (non-domain) without issue with same PPKG.
Hello,Our client uses ET51 8'' with LI3678 and DS3678 guns connected via BT SSI. In the SOTI Mobicontrol kiosk/Lockdown I have 5 applications. In Datawedge I only made the following modifications in the default profile (Profile0)Scanner selection in AutoAdded ENTER prefix to keystroke output mode > basic data formatting. After pairing the reader (LI3678), I test code reading in Lockdown Administrator mode (i.e. without SOTI kiosk). When I pull the trigger the red light on the scanner flashes once, there is no beam, when I'm on Android desktop with no app open.As soon as I open an application (Chrome, Solunotes, etc.) the beam appears and the gun reacts normally, I can read codes. As soon as I open the SotiMobicontrol application, the beam disappears and pressing the trigger triggers the gun's red error LED.I switch to user mode, lockdown/active kiosk. The beam is still inactive. It reappears as soon as I open an application (Chrome, SotiSurf, SoluNotes) but not when I launch my first Web link, named "Reflex Web".The beam remains inactive as if I were still in the Mobicontrol kiosk.I think we're still in Lockdown, because with this link it is the webview integrated into Lockdown that we open. I tried adding a profile in Datawedge with the applicationNet.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork *The beam is now visible when I open the application to return from Administrator mode to User mode, but as soon as the kiosk appears, boom no more beam. I have not noticed any difference between the type of Lockdown, I am in "Activity Suppression".I tested in Native, I have the same behavior. Have any of you ever faced this problem?Any idea to solve it?a video explaining my problem: https://youtu.be/C7-Dr_h_DJ4

I enrolled few linux based devices to soti mobicontrol using the "Enrollment URL" The devices are getting added as the default naming convention. Linux%AUTONUM% ( Linux 00001, Linux 00002 , ... ) as expected. I also noted we can change this using few other variables ( %AUTONUM% %IP% %MACADDRESS% %PLATFORM% %MANUFACTURER% ) Is there a way to pass a custom variable to the install.sh script , so that the name will appear as the same. Practical purpose is to easily find the devices by the user. Is there any developer guide available from soti regarding linux device enrolling,
Good Morning, I have an application running on an Android Plus device (Zebra TC52) that requires the ActionNotificationPolicyAccessSettings permission in order to change music/alarm/ring volume. I'm running into an issue where my application is requesting these permissions, but then Mobi Control is hiding the device settings window so users can't toggle the required permissions on. Is there a way to execute this intention and bypass the activity suppression? Thanks, Mark
