SOTI Shared Device - Login Transition

Hello, Currently we are trialing the Shared Device mode in SOTI using Samsung android tablets. We have set up both Login Pre-lockdown and Post-lockdown profiles. And configured the Shared Device mode details using Entra SSO etc. When you click the Login icon, it brings up the O365 username and password screen. After entering your details for SSO and signing in, the screen disappears and briefly shows the Login screen again. Then, you are prompted to enter your session PIN. Once you enter the PIN, it returns to the Login screen. The main issue is that it takes about 5 to 10 seconds for the device to sign in and switch to the Post-lockdown profile. Our staff are getting confused because sometimes the session PIN prompt doesn’t appear, or after entering the PIN, there’s a 5-10 second delay, making them think nothing is happening, so they click Login again. Is it possible to add a transition screen after setting a PIN, such as a “Loading” or “Please wait” message? Thanks

Shared phone management with Microsoft SSO applications

When the phone is passed around, it is very difficult for the user to log in to these applications because SOTI Surf (or another browser) caches the last 365 login for SSO. I am forced to manually clear the app data and cache, but this is not manageable. Do you have any ideas for automating this more easily? iOS Shared Device - Google account remains on the device upon log out

Hello. I've set up Shared Device for iPads, with the goal of only having Soti MobiControl, Soti MobiControl Login, and Settings (system) visible when no one's logged in. Once a user logs in, the device moves to a different folder where the app policy pushes about 15 work apps - mostly Google apps like Gmail, Chat, Drive, etc. The issue I’m running into is that when a user logs out, the device clears data for all the managed apps except the Google ones. So when the next user logs in, they find the previous user still signed in to those apps - not ideal at all. I do have a Feature Control that allows Safari (only because we need JavaScript permissions), but it’s blacklisted using Application Run Control. However, during testing I discovered Safari seems to be caching the previous user's credentials. Even though apps get reinstalled after logout, the saved logins are somehow still there. To cover some basics: Yes, we have the integration between Apple Business Manager and Google Workspace. Google Workspace is linked with Soti for end-user authentication. Shared iPad (Apple’s version) isn’t an option here because it requires Microsoft Entra user group assignments (from Soti side), which we don’t have set up. Just wondering if anyone’s come across this or has ideas for how to better handle this setup? I'm open to workarounds or even a totally different approach if it solves the problem. Appreciate any insights, thank you

Tracking Who is Using the Scanner Solved

Hello, We have over 1K+ Zebra TCxx devices in use at our warehouses. All devices are deployed with a locked screen, granting access only to the apps necessary for their tasks. Occasionally, a device gets lost or damaged. While this can happen, we'd like to see if we can reduce such incidents by requiring users to log in before they can access applications. We tried the shared device feature, but encountered a few issues: When Soti Identity is down (FE: when there is an update), users cannot log in, which means the scanners are unusable. The default shared device login screen includes a link to the terms and conditions. Through this link, users can access various other websites (possibly something we could block). It seems likely that other companies are facing similar issues. So, here’s our question 😊 Has anyone found an ideal solution to this problem? If so, could you share some details about it? Thanks very much in advance! Best regards,Robbert

start activity via intent (shared device) Solved

Hi all, We have a question about making use of intents. We want to create a button that calls an intent that starts the Log In screen from Soti. we have scanners in a lock screen and now they need to press and hold the back button and press login: what we want is that we create a login button so they will directly go to this page. (so instead of press and hold the back button and press login) when we check the activity (via identify_activity) we see the following: net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.shareddevice.SharedDeviceActivity now the question :) how can we open this screen via an intent? We checked the intent manual but we can't get it work. hopefully someone over here can help us. thank you in advance!!

Shared Device - Usage for Office365

Shared device for office use. Hi, I have successfully deployed a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 as a Work Managed Device recently. The plan is that this device will be used by many different users who will end up working with their personal Office 365 / Onedrive. After logging out, they should be logged out of their personal Onedrive, etc. so that the following user cannot see the data. Is it the right way to set up a shared device configuration, add all potential users to an AD group and then create a lockdown profile with shared-device:// as autostart? In the video guide from Soti it says that you should set "App.login" as the icon with the program "shared-device://", this does not seem to be possible in the latest version. I have now done it this way: The video guide has the following option: I only have these options: Unfortunately, when I click on the new icon, I get the message that I should check my Internet connection. Is my plan basically possible to achieve? Where is my error? Android 13 Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 as Work Managed Soti Version: 15.6.1.1048 onPrem   Cheers Maik

Shared device on iOS - error during login Solved

I have configured shared device for Android and iOS. On Android it works. On iOS I login and after MFA, this message appears on both the device screen and in the logs: Failed to authorize user because the user is not permitted in the Shared Device configuration. I'm using the exact same user on both Android and iOS. The configuration for shared device in Advanced configuration is exactly the same on both. Anyone got any ideas why it is working in Android, but not iOS?
