    Allow App to update

Hello, we are using a software on a Zebra TC72, which needs to be updated everytime the server receives an update. If I am not using SOTI, the APP will tell you that there is a new version available, ask you if you like to update and run the update. If I use SOTI, the App brings up an error, that the update could not be run. I assume, that this has to do with SOTI, not 100% sure. Is there a setting or something, where I can allow the App to update itself. I would like to avoid doing the update every month, if possible. Thanks

After agent upgrade to 15.1.2.1075 old SOTI Settings manager app is giving Package does not contain default activity Solved

Hi, We install all devices with afw#mobicontrol in enterprise mode. About month ago we installed 500 devices (Samsung tablets). The agent version was 15.0.1 build 1051, a month later installing devices with agent version is 15.1.1 build 1031 gave me troubles with some of my file rules - link to my discussion. Now when reinstaling one of my test devices I run into another problem with current agent (15.1.2.1075) The installation of my packages is very hard, it gives me a lot errors, for example: Package "SOTI_settings_manager" version 1.0 failed to install. File IO error on device. Check Storage/Permissions. and Error message received from device (Package [net.soti.settingsmanager] does not contain default activity) How to avoid this? Everything was working fine with previous versions of the agent. Any way to enroll devices in Enterprise with controlled SOTI Mobicontrol agent version? I want to use the working (from my point of view) version of the agent (15.1.1_1031 or 15.0.1_1051) for re-enrolling devices. How to achieve this?

Override Lockdown for all groups through root folder

Hi all, i searched for long time in this forum but haven't found a similar questions yet. Imagine a root folder (Group) with many subfolders. Each subfolder has a specific profile containing a lockdown and several apps. In case of severe IT-server-problems our customer wants to set easily a "emergency lockdown" launching automatically a single app for all company devices. I tried to assign a profile to the root folder to override all the subfolder profiles. Looking into a device configuration it says "ignored" for the lockdown. Looks like a first come first serve to me. Any idea how to override all devices and set a lockdown screen with a single app launching automatically? Run a Script? Thanks in advance

Impact of Android 11 Scoped Storage Restrictions on Android Agent Solved

Hello @All, as stated in the article below, there are a few more restrictions with Android 11: https://discussions.soti.net/articles/impact-of-android-11-scoped-storage-restrictions-on-android-agent The main one that really hinders our staging process is that you arent able to use mcsetup.ini anymore. Has anyone gotten the agent Version 15.1.2 on Android 11 to accept mcsetup.ini? Any additional manual step i.e. scanning or putting in the enrollment id is "annoying" in the whole staging process. Combining Honeywell Enterprise Provisioner or Zebra MX with mcsetup.ini was a nearly 1 step process to enroll and stage a device for us. Any ideas appreciated.

    Android App Permissions greyed out

Hi, I am trying to figure out why all application permissions are all greyed out and locked on an Android 9 device managed by mobi. It's work managed device. I pushed a feature control that basically has ALLOW EVERYTHING as a test but I still see them greyed out with a note saying that action is not allowed by Mobi: what am I missing? Is this a default behaviour for work managed? can I allow the app permissions to be changed by the user? NOTE: MobiControl Version 15.3.3 Thanks,

Some file rules are not working

Hi, We install all devices with afw#mobicontrol in enterprise mode. About month ago we installed 500 devices (Samsung tablets). The agent version was 15.0.1 build 1051, and right now i tried reinstalling one of the devices and the current version is 15.1.1 build 1031. I have two very important file rules for downloading files from server to devices. First rule is downloading 5 files from server to all tablets in their main directory %internalsdcard% This rule is currently not working!!! Second rule is dowloading single file from server to all tablets in their "Downloads" folder. And it is working! Please advice how to make my first rule working again? Thank you in advance!

Android 11/12 disconnects each 30 minute Solved

Hello, I have seen with various Android 11 and 12 devices that the connection is lost all 30 minutes and regain couple seconds later. MobiControl: 15.4.2.1020 (private cloud) two different servers.MobiControl Agent: 15.1.1.1031 Devices: Android 11: Zebra TC72, TC26, MC33, Android 12: Google Pixel 6 Connection type: different WLAN and LTE It seems that the agent itself restarts itself at h:00 and h:30, as the event log of the agent itself has only entries since the last h:00 or h:30 time. This happens also if I restart the device few minutes before the full or half hour, so it could not be doze mode. Zebra Android 10 devices on the same servers with same version of Agent doesnt show this behaviour. Any ideas ? Or is this just an other problem of Agent 15.1.1 ? Martin

failed to install, because all of its payloads cannot be installed. Samsung SM-T575 Solved

I have a profile that keeps coming up with error "failed to install, because all of its payloads cannot be installed." Inside the profile is a package containing an APK "Auto Answer and Callback" and two .vcf files. There is no other configurations attached to this profile. The package is set for OS versions 2.0-11.0. The devices are running Android 11 out of the box. We have previously had no issues delivering this profile onto Panasonic FZL1 devices. The APK installs correctly but the files do not.

Android 11, IMEI and SN etcetera

Hello, As most of you will know, devices running on Android 11 or higher are protecting sensitive information like the IMEI and serial number from external applications. MobiControl however seems perfectly able to show such information, even on a consumer Samsung device. We provide an application for truck drivers, to be able to show them where to go and what to do and so forth. Our application is not able to show the IMEI or serial number of the device it is working on, starting from Android 11. Even though we are managing that very same device in MobiControl. If a truck driver runs into issues with his device, he calls us. In prior Android versions we used to be able to check which device he is using in our own software but starting from Android 11, we can't. We now have to ask them which device they're using, before being able to help them using MobiControl. Is there a way for MobiControl to give our own application permission to check IMEI or SN? Or the other way around, is there a way for our own application to ask MobiControl for the IMEI, SN or the MobiControl device name for instance? Kind regards,Theun Schellekens p.s. These devices are all fully managed, only used in kiosk mode and for work applications.

Zebra TC57 - Downgrade from Android v11 to Android v8.1 via MobiControl Solved

We're currently using MobiControl v15.4.1. Devices are AE enrolled. We have a couple TC57's that are on Android v11 that we'd like to bring back down to v8.1. In the past, we've been able to use the "install_system_update" to push OSUpdates to devices (worked with downgrades as well), but now we receive a "failed to install" error on the device: and the RX logs show this error: OSUService: Can't perform update package: This API has been deprecated for OS downgrade. Kindly use new API (DOWNGRADE_PACKAGE) to enable downgrade (CODE:1103) Is there a way to call the "downgrade_package" via Mobi (com.symbol.intent.action.DOWNGRADE_PACKAGE)? Thanks! -Aaron
