WiFi is not auto-connecting to managed network Solved

Good day, SOTI Community. I've configured a Wi-Fi profile for my iPads so they should automatically join a specific network. The profile deploys successfully, and the devices show the SSID and credentials as expected. However, the iPads don't actually connect to the network on their own; they only join once I manually tap the SSID. After that first manual connection, they auto-connect normally.Has anyone else seen this or know what might cause the first auto-join to fail? Or is this by Apple's design for security/privacy measures?iPadOS v26.0.1MobiAgent v2025.1.0.2051SOTI MobiControl v2025.1.0.1010Thanks, MDel

iOS Shared Device - Google account remains on the device upon log out

Hello. I've set up Shared Device for iPads, with the goal of only having Soti MobiControl, Soti MobiControl Login, and Settings (system) visible when no one's logged in. Once a user logs in, the device moves to a different folder where the app policy pushes about 15 work apps - mostly Google apps like Gmail, Chat, Drive, etc. The issue I’m running into is that when a user logs out, the device clears data for all the managed apps except the Google ones. So when the next user logs in, they find the previous user still signed in to those apps - not ideal at all. I do have a Feature Control that allows Safari (only because we need JavaScript permissions), but it’s blacklisted using Application Run Control. However, during testing I discovered Safari seems to be caching the previous user's credentials. Even though apps get reinstalled after logout, the saved logins are somehow still there. To cover some basics: Yes, we have the integration between Apple Business Manager and Google Workspace. Google Workspace is linked with Soti for end-user authentication. Shared iPad (Apple’s version) isn’t an option here because it requires Microsoft Entra user group assignments (from Soti side), which we don’t have set up. Just wondering if anyone’s come across this or has ideas for how to better handle this setup? I'm open to workarounds or even a totally different approach if it solves the problem. Appreciate any insights, thank you

    iOS DDM on existing devices/profiles

Hello, We use iOS devices and have set up various profiles on the devices (application run control, feature control, web clips). If we activate DDM so that we can use the more robust iOS update management, will this have any impact on the hisotric profiles that are installed? I think it should be fine, but I'm finding the information online around compatibility reactive and declarative management a bit confusing.

Missing "Forget This Network" Option After iOS 18 Upgrade

Hi everyone, After upgrading the OS from iOS 16 to iOS 18, many of our iPhone users have reported that the "Forget This Network" option has disappeared (see the below screenshots), making it impossible to remove unwanted Wi-Fi networks from their devices. Our devices are managed through MobiControl version 2025.1.0, and agent version is 2025.0.0. We have a Profile assigned to those devices where it automatically join connect them to our WiFi (see below). Is this a bug introduced by iOS or something related to MobiControl? Please help as I have tried finding the articles outside SOTI and couldn't find any solution.

    iPad automatic deploeyment

Hello everyone,  I have a problem with the automatic enrollment via the Apple Business Mangaer. We are currently running on Soti 2024.01. We have bought an iPad which is provided via the ABM and the correct server for Mobicontrol is also stored there. But now the device is not displayed. I have already tested the sync function and checked everything again to see if one of the connections is not configured correctly. Does anyone have any idea why I can't see the iPad in Mobicontrol?  If you need more information, I will of course send it to you.   Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Display version of specific app on device list

We use SOTI to deploy iOS devices and are interested in the version of one app that is installed. Is there any way to pull this onto the device list for easy viewing? Currently I have to run the app version report but this does not include the time when the device last connected so is not overly helpful for identifying app version issues. It's a lot of effort to pull 2 different reports and then join them (especially as the dates export as text and are not easily converted)

iOS - remove Phone and Settings icon from homescreen

Hello SOTI team, I would like to stage an iPhone to only display a webclip on the device The problem is by using application restrictions (White List) it removes all but the settings and phone icon. My goal is to find a way to remove those icons from the phone by using SOTI. I tried creating a blacklist to specify com.apple.Preferences and com.apple.mobilephone but it will fail to install. Will I need to use an XML script to accomplish this? If so could some one help point me in the right direction for what options or ideas they have? Single App mode is not an option because I would like to add more webclips later. 07/30-Thanks Kindly for suggestions but Single App mode is not an option as the root goal would be to lockdown the phones similar to Android. I realize this may not be possible but my ideal situation would be to create a homescreen without the Phone and Settings icons. I think my only best solution is to drop those two icons in a folder on page 2.  I believe we are facing limitations of what iOS 17 can do. I hope with iOS18 we will be able to hide those two icons and prevent user from being able to swipe right or left on homescreen. I did experiment with Custom Profiles but if you try to blacklist the Preferences and MobilePhone bundles using XML it will fail also. The official Apple documentaton does specify that you cant do that for those two Bundles so I think this may be out of SOTIs control. Thanks again!

    APP store

I am trying to setup so user can use the app store but when I do the options are greyed out and just says beside it in app purchases.  I have allow install of apps and allow install of apps from the app store enabled in the feature control.  I also have allow in app purchases enabled as well.   If turn off turn off allow in app purchase it does nothing.  all the app in app store are greyed out and will not download and install.

Possible to have profile install after app installation? Solved

I have an application that I'm installing on our iPads using an app policy. I also have a profile that enables single-app mode pointing to that application. I have an issue where the single-app mode profile is kicking in before the application is installed, and it is throwing an error on my device. The only way around it is to wait for the application to finish installing, and then reboot the device.  My question: Is it possible to have the profile kick in after the application is fully installed on the device?

install ipa ios via application policy failed

Hi, We had problems when trying to install the application by uploading the IPA file via Apps Policy. where when the application appears on the device an error appears as in the picture. We use enrollment device types and unsupervised devices. Is it true that on an unsupervised device you can't push the IPA file type application?

    Apple BYOD Application Catalog Solved

Hopefully someone can help me here. I have created and deployed an Apple device as "user" enrollment which works fine (i can add and enroll profiles which take effect on the device like Wifi for example). My problem now is, I also assigned an app policy where 2 apps are assigned to (previously also "purchased" in the ABM (Mobicontrol Agent and Office 365 for testing)). I can see both apps in the provided webclip for Application catalog (https://serveraddress/mc/mdm/appcatalog/%DeviceIdentifier%) but if i press on "install", for both i get the error message "App can't be installed. Please contact your Administrator."  In the webclip for the profile catalog (https://serveraddress/mc/mdm/profile/%DeviceIdentifier%) i get only a blank page. APNS is set up and a test went fine. Did I miss something or is there something related i could have done wrong somewhere?

Deploy eSIMs using MobiControl on iOS Solved

I'm looking to understand how we can use MobiControl to deploy eSIMs to managed iOS devices, and i cant seem to find any SOTI documentation on it. We have multiple iOS devuces enrolled into MobiControl currently, and would like to roll out an eSIM to each of them. I can see an option in the device actions called 'UPDATE ESIM CELLULAR PLAN' which then asks you to enter the 'Carrier URL'. Is the carrier URL something that we get from the network supplier? And is this unique to each eSIM, or is it a generic URL for all of the eSIMs? If anyone has any experience with rolling out eSIMs via MobiControl in the UK it would be great to hear from you.
